Agreed... but Spurs are going to get some serious cash for him.
AVB said earlier this week that he's staying no matter what. I think if they finish in the top 4 that he stays. If they don't then he could be gone.
Was thinking about this earlier, where do you think Bale ranks right now in the world?
Yea I feel the same way. He is an absolute beast.
Should've told us that in February.
So Monaco have added Rodriguez and Jao Moutinho. Falcao is headed there for a physical. And they are aiming at Victor Valdes in goal and Kaka in midfield.
They are an early favorite for #2 in Ligue 1 next year and should be very intriguing given another summer transfer window next year in 2014-2015.
Still don't know how they'll build a global fanbase and revenue stream to maintain wages once the FFP kicks in.
Doesn't go into effect right away, but it's about time they made this move. Looking forward to Bayern completing the treble next week.
I thought it was either 2013 or 2014 but the amount you spend doesn't stop automatically, teams will be able to overspend x amount of revenue dollars for 4-5yrs after as long as debt isn't increasing.
Valdes, Kompany and Kaka may be nearing deals with Monaco. Would be two more player shy of an elite team.
One thing that could be very interesting is if MANU gets Cesc and someone else swoops Thiago Alcantara. Who does Barca then go get? Juan Mata?
Look for Barca to keep Alexis Sanchez but sell Villa to Tottenham within a week for around 15ME. Crucial add for Tottenham.
Barca will basically return up top:
They should buy Mascherano and Adriano from Barca. They'd have a full team basically.
Mascherano, Adriano, Kompany
Rodrigues, Moutinho, Kaka
Honestly, if Kaka came back alive at all that could be a scary team in Ligue one come next January.
Man City about to get go HAM. Pelligrini is a genius too.
Manchester City are planning a €140 million summer splurge in order to transform further the fortunes of the club both on and off the pitch
Was thinking today that I wish Barca would sell Sanchez and Villa and put that money into Edinson Cavani. Starting three attackers for the Catalans then would be a Brazilian, an Argentine, and a Uruguayan.
Anyone watching EUFA U21's? Spain destroyed Netherlands 3-0, Germany beat Russia 2-1 today.
Also Confederations Cup starts in 3 days
Great article by Rog Bennet on Brazil and the World Cup on ESPN.com frontpage (can't get it to attach). He hosts the Men In Blazers podcast on Grantland, which is imo the best EPL/ Soccer pod on the interwebs, if you want to check that out.
well i guess it did.
Oil money: how to go from shit to great.
Sure hope that doesn't go through, then RM would probably offer something stupid for Bale and Levy's jewness would have to kick in eventually.
If CR7 leaves Madrid it will be to go back to United. Tons of rumors the deal is already done actually. I don't buy it, but the rumors are getting stronger. If he does leave, you guys are going to struggle to hold onto Bale.
We're struggling now to be honest, but to be fair Abramovich 'only' spent 100m to completely rebuild Chelsea a decade ago. If we're talking 85-100m for Bale then I'm confident we can still be pointed in the right direction.
Confed Cup, Brazil/ Japan starting imminently. Let's do it.
I think we had a more recent thread, but this was the best tSearch Function gave me...
Season is approaching fast and as we wind down on preseason, let's see what everyone expects for their opening day lineup for their respective team. I'll start....
Osman (left out Naismith - I say he replaces Osman)
I think Baines is the only one that might leave and that's only if ManU significantly raises their bid. Oviedo would be an easy plug. Obviously not Baines quality, but he's good enough for Martinez to give him some time at left mid. If the season started today, Anichebe would start just because Jelavic isn't quite match fit, but with a few more weeks I'd say he's good. I think Martinez will eventually try to push three in the back, but the team doesn't seem comfortable enough with that yet. Stones would be that third guy, but I left him out all together as I think he starts the season on loan.

Everton should play with more pace than the recent past. The incorporation of a healthy Mirallas, Barkley, and some appearances by Deulofeu will definitely show improved pace and creativity. There does seem to be some unrest right now with the new tactics and I expect some growing pains. I think Everton finishes ahead on Liverpool again, but I think Spurs just brought in too much for Everton to overcome. Obviously Arsenal is wait and see right now after striking out so far. I think there's an outside chance ManU really struggles and misses CL.
Right now I'd say
Spurs (call me crazy with their past)
Southampton (think they take a big step; still young but a very good summer)
