He pumps out 1 book about every 5 or 6 years. From what I have found out, a lot of fans are upset that it takes so long between books. I think there are 5 books with the first written around 95.
The books are very detailed and very well written. The show is doing a very good job of telling the story, the books go into a lot more detail. I'm only half way through the 4th book right now. The amount of characters in the books is amazing and quite a few of them have background stories as well. Also during a lot of the books there are snippets of the history of the world.
If you like the show and you like reading you will enjoy the books.
They are good. Frustrating, but good. Every chapter is written from a Character Point of View. So one chapter will be from Jamies perspective and the next Jon Snow..etc.. it is interested to hear the thoughts of both sides and what their real plans are. And in that champter you only see and hear what they do. Books 4 and 5 are written at the same time line but with different POVs so you eseintally read the same events from different perspectives in that one. Book 6 should be coming out withen a year or so.
The first 3 are the best so far.
Jaime was ambushed and as it said in the books he cut through a lot of guys before they took him down.
I believe even Robb Stark basically admits that he would have lost head to head.
As far as him and Ned it is possible that he would have lost.
He wasnt really ambushed as much as he was tricked. They knew he would be too stupid to and go trying to play hero through the woods. It was planned and they caught him exactly as they knew they would. He cut down men as they tried to take him alive. A spear or arrow could have done him in at any moment
Yeah true. I still think he would have best Robb head to head. Robb is still pretty damn young in the books.
Maybe I am just a Jaime apologist.
I would think the Dog would be in the conversation. He is just short of the Mountain in strength.
Hard to believe we haven't mentioned the Dog yet.
Is this a debate for best fighter ?
Gotta be Jeoffry
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Yes that is correct but he is called Joffrey's dog sometimes. I was just going with the previous poster.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
What 13 year old would have two naked chicks in his room and do nothing but torture them?
Is Tyrions guy in the discussion? does he have a back story?
Yeah Bronn (sp?) is a pretty big bad ass as well.
A total tough guy that is who
Plus the majority of people can't even hit him cause its a death sentence so he could be 58-0 before you know it so long as he picks the right battles
He is also undefeated against babies

He keeps it quiet when early on Tyrion asked him about it during that drinking game they played with the whore
Maybe the book reading nerds can help out
Jaimie Lanister was probably the top knight in the Westeros at the time of book 1. Knight of the flowers, and the Mountain are close. In his prime Ser Barriston Selmy was better than Jaime. Authur Dayne likely the top knight ever since the Targ's took power.
Jaime would have cut down Ned.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
The Hound seems pretty BA IMO
I love the Hounds helm too.
I give my Bad ass vote to Brienne. I haven't read the books but I assume she will be kicking ass later on in the series.
Bron is a bad motherfvcker. But IMO the baddest is Sir Barriston Selmy. Dude is in his 60s and could still merc half the realm.
And he walked off on Cersei & the lil bitxh like a straight thug. Then, killed the scrubs they sent after him to stop him.
I like Dora or whoever too the white dude that is with Danaryes ( man spelling these characters names is a bitch to remember )
But the baddest dude was Drahgo, man I wish he was still alive but his one death delivery was worth it
One of the best death/fight scenes I have ever seen, maybe the best
He is the dude Ned respected so much right ? who when fired by fag face said " even now I could cut through the 5 of you like carving a cake "
Im still mastering the art of getting everybody and theirs names right
Yes that is correct. Selmy is a beast.
And the other guy you are talking about is Jora Mormount.
And yes Kahl Drogo is probably the biggest bad ass on the show or books. When he gave that guy a Colombian necktie it was awesome.
