I don't cause its only the failures that get national attention which in turn makes them okay for movies
Most Delta Missions or any SF mission is unknown and can't be talked about if its a successful mission
I hear you though, would be cool to see more if it weren't just the failures and extremely sad stories of war

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
War movies are great.
I've seen some mini documentaries on successful missions on the military channel.. but you're right most people want to see drama, and there's no greater drama than loss of life (not including the enemies).
Yeah those are good, but making a movie is harder to do on actual facts of the mission
Most don't realize it but Black Hawk Down was almost scene for scene accurate
All the deaths were almost exactly how they happened and the names were all real
Im sure they had to go through all kinds of hurdles to actually put out the names of Delta Operators
Not even the Army talks about Delta and won't even say if its a real unit or not most of the time
A good friend of my Fathers was asked to join Delta in the 80's.. he turned it down because he just found out his wife was pregnant.. he's been with the ATF for years.
He's got some amazing stories when he was in the Green Berets... a true badass, some huge drunk guy got in my dads face one night and he had him on the ground begging to be released in 3 seconds.
That is cool and I can tell you aren't bullshitting cause Delta does ask you
You can't just apply like most SF units cause they " don't exist " wink wink..... they recruit you themselves and if you make it you vanish for awhile
No but I have a very good idea who Snows mother is. It's a pretty common theory around the web and I would be very surprised if GRRM doesn't go that route.
Thanks for bringing the thread back to relevance. Can you inbox me the theory? Thanks
Screw that, post that bitch for all of us
Hahaha, it's in the spoiler thread
Yes I have heard the theory and it makes sense. At this point I will be disappointed if it turns out the theory is wrong.
There is a chance you will catch a glimpse of Jon's mother in Dany's visions in the house of the undying, though I have no idea if they are going to include that.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Ha yeah I have heard all of the theories pretty much
Just wanted him to share it to keep the thread going, and in the slim chance he might have said something I haven't heard before
There is really only one plausible theory as to who Jon Snow's mother is.
I have heard a couple of different theories that could be plausible.
Really hoping it is the one that everyone has heard.
I'm staying away from the spoiler thread because I haven't read books 4 or 5 yet but the theory that seems most likely would probably blow the minds of anybody only watching the show. Absolutely nothing in the show so far points to it.
There are really only subtle hints at it in the books and even then you have to piece it together.
I haven't finished book 5 either so I have been avoiding the book thread.
Seems like many of us don't want to venture into the book thread. Does someone want to post the Snow theory here, or PM it to me?
I will PM when I get to my PC. I will send you a link that explains the whole thing.
me too....I found myself on the GOTWiki Page and pretty much spoiled every characters life through the books, but I dont think it spoke to whom his mom is.
Will send PMs, let me know if Aussie has a different theory then me.
Aussie you ever get around to the link?
Huddles are for rookies.
To those who have sent a PM: Thank You, much appreciated!
