glad they gave us the faceless man reveal at the end. Otherwise nobody will come up with the theory that he might be her old dancing master.
Honestly I am having a hard time remembering it has been so long.
Huh? he was always a faceless man. Changed his face like that in the book. Still never stopped the Syrio=Jaqen theories
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
yeah that's my point. If he hadn't changed his face in the show then nobody would realize he could do it and nobody might come to the conclusion that maybe he has changed his face before and maybe he was the dance instructor. That's where the theories come from.
well I might be wrong but i'm pretty sure where we are with Snow right now is only halfway through book 2. They have alot to work with for season 3 and 4, wonder if they stretch that to season 5 too.
I don't remember exactly... Some of Snow's stuff got changed and threw me off.... I was hoping ghost was going to tear into dude with Jon.... But darn it... They missed a great opportunity to make ghost look bad ass with Jon.
I think Jon's timeline is about right. I think they cut out where ghost got attacked by the raven I think... Thats where he sees all the big stuff(im trying not to spoil i think here)...And Jon was suppose to find the dragon glass I thought... But the show had Sam find that... I could have my stuff mixed up tho...

Snow was supposed to find the Dragon Glass but he gives it to Sam I think. Actually I thought Ghost found it. But for some reason I thought they were back at Crasters when the wights show up. I guess I could go grab the book and review how far they go with Snow but i'm too lazy to do that right now. You're right though, the show has all the Snow stuff mixed up.
Edit: nope, looked it up, the Snow storyline seems to be more or less on pace.

Yeah. I know they had to cut out some stuff for TV, but I always wanted to see what ghost saw before he got attacked. I know we are going to see it in season 3..... I just wanted a peek tho...
I am going to go back and read the books again I think. I have forgot so much.
I have started to not like Dany so much lately, she's acting like a brat
They have changed so much its a different show. 50$ say they go no where with brans timeline after this.
the Starks connections with their wolves etc has never been flushed or in the show.
They change every major scene even ones that money TV production would not affect
Almost all the little parts that made you hate or lovea certain character are gone.
I reread them all last summer and it was a mistake. Everything is too fresh in my mind
Its a good show but it is not the books anymore

yep, seems more a brat in the show then in the books. Not a great actress either.
Strangely I find myself pulling for the Lanisters as of now. I know they are a pretty f-ed up bunch, but they are the most interesting. Also them and the Starks are the only normal human types in the show, everyone else has some sort of magic or whatever. So I will pull for the mortals...plus the imp is the best character in the show.
That's kind of a good thing, though, right? With HBO's track record and GRRM's guidance you know it will be a fantastic series when all's said and done. And if it were EXACTLY like the books, you'd already know everything that was going to happen to a "t", and where would be the fun in that?
I see your point but I disagree.
They are not going to change any major plot points because the book fans will flip out.
The changes they have made, while minor are changing some characters in a major way.
No surprise there, I know a lot of book readers pull for Tyrion and Jaimie at least. Probably not so much for Joffrey, Cersei or Tywin.
I like Jaime and Tyrion. Hate the rest of them.
Having only just started reading the books I can't comment specifically on ASOFAI, but there are some books that I remember going to movie that had similar small changes that affected characters and, after some retrospective analysis, I came to the conclusion that certain things would just be too hard or ineffective due to the medium (film vs. print). Any chance that's what's happening here?
In some instances yes but in others I can't really see their reasoning.
Really enjoyed the finale. Can't wait for Season 3. Too tired to really expand on those thoughts.
I do have a .gif request though. If anyone can make a .gif postable on 247 of Tywin's horse taking a dump on the floor, I would love to have it to respond to some of the posts on this board.
