Is he the Heisman frontrunner now. Only nine incompletions to ten touchdowns so far, I know it's early but still impressive imo.
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
he certainly is in a conference to where i dont see those percentages going down very much at all
You gotta consider Deanthony Thomas too. Geno is looking great though, and you could make a great case for Geno as the front runner.
I can't see De'Anthony touching the ball enough to win it, he is a beast though.
Hey Trojans, LSU's 74 are better than your 75.
Of course but Geno will put up video game numbers at QB and like I said it's still early in the season.
After watching Barkley last night, give me Geno over Barkley. Both are prototypical NFL QB's. Tall, high release, rocket arms, accurate... Geno's ability to leave the pocket and escape pressure puts him on top for me.
Homer in me says Geno is the front runner.
The football fan in me says Geno is the front runner.
LOL you're a homer, Barkley is by far the better College QB and will be better NFL QB. Geno is good tho
Really? What sets them apart?
And you said "by far". You must have some great examples as to how Barkley is far superior.
Barkley looked like a Leinart/Palmer clone last night. He will not last in the pros. Career backup just like Leinart. He lacks the testicular fortitude.

I like Geno better as a college QB but then again i'm not high on Barkley at all. I see him as a typical USC QB looks great while the pocket is clean but struggles to make any sort of adjustment when pressured.
Thought Geno was better before the season anyway. Of course everyone else will go with the USC golden boy. It's okay to be a homer in this case imo
LOL "testicular fortitude." that's a good one
IIRC RG3 had a similar stat last year with more TDs than incompletions at one point. Wouldn't surprise me to see him win the Heisman.

Id say Geno is the lead dog at this point but a loooong way to go and much better opponents for WVU to come as well so... we'll see, alot of good players out there and alot of football to be played.
Sitting in the pocket being nervous to make something happen with your feet is lacking balls. Barkley is a great talent, and will likely go 1st in the draft. That doesn't mean he has balls, and it doesn't mean he will be successful in the NFL. Geno hasn't taken a single sack through 2 games. Don't care who you play, that is impressive. One of those reasons is because this is the best WVU Oline since I have been alive. The other is because Geno has the state of mind to make plays no matter is the play breaks down or not.
Geno was invited to the Manning camp just like Barkley. Don't act like Barkley is some kind of God and Geno is a scrub. Barkley = Leinart 2.0.
Geno didn't play in the 4th quarter.
Seriously. Geno has played 6 quarters out of a possible 8 so far this season. If he played those other 2 quarters his numbers would just be stupid.
You are right. 3rd quarter ended when WVU was in the redzone. Geno finished out that drive, and then Millard was in for the last 14:56 of the 4th quarter. Geno played 4 seconds of the 4th. And that "touchdown pass" was one of those shovel plays to Tavon Austin. Its really just a run play, but it counts as a pass. Here is a video of the play.
Geno Smith "Touch Pass" to Tavon Austin against LSU for a 38 yard gain! This play was ran earlier in the year...and it always seems to get a decent gain when it's used...I like it!!!
4 seconds into the 4th quarter.
I actually have no problem with padding Heisman stats, coaches just need to know the consequences if the player gets injured.
De'Anthony will get more touches now that conference play starts. In the 3 OOC games he was out of the game by half or shortly after.

Geno is really playing well right now. It will be interesting to see if he keeps it up against a team like Texas on October 6th. Remember RG3 got absolutely killed by 30 points in back to back weeks last year against AM and Ok State. The fact he got his bad games out Back back and fished strong helped him.
WVUs schedule doesn't set up like that as its harder at the end besides Kansas. You know how much the end of the year determines the Heisman.
Either way, I hope he at least gets a invite..deserves it. He has come a long long way. Has always had the golden arm and been athletic but he constantly held the ball for way to long causing sacks the first 2 1/2 years of his career. Really he was even doing it last year at times but that break between South Florida and the Orange bowl he got it all together and has played like a master ever since.
Never been in trouble, back talked a coach, talked bad about his opponents, etc.. all around great kid
