before it begins. Dude must be a major douche. lol, Jets.
One week removed from his infamous draft-day slide New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has remained in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
I don't mind the agent firing thing, I personally think agents are pointless. But damn, texting during an interview? ? Hahahaha.
It's losers like him an Tyler Bray that lead to lesser QBs like EJ Manuel getting paid. Maturity may not matter at any other position but the NFL hates douche QBs.
Definitely. Had no idea geno was like that but definitely a perfect fit for the new jersey jets. Tyler bray is such a fail
Kinda curious how manuel will do up here honestly, even if I'm not a bills fan
Not well. He totally shit his pants against NCSt and Florida this past year. Anticipation and downfield accuracy are poor.
I've noticed those..one thing that cracks me up is the analysts calling his arm a cannon. Unless if I'vebeen missing something from watching 5 seasons of him.
Speaking of qbs..who's it lookin like on your side, winston?
The best thing out of all of this is how they say the read option is huge in the league now and is tough to stop. For the past 2 years EJ looks like he has downs when he runs the read option
I hate EJM. Don't want to go "Nova" on him but seriously, he is the shittiest awesome QB I will ever witness. And if I was allowed to yell at him for just five seconds without him slapping me I'd yell at him for the lob passes he floats around the field all the damn time. He will throw straight up parabolas on out passes and what not. He's like a pitcher who can throw 95 but his fastball is generally 87-90 because of hesitation.
Jameis Winston has everything left to prove but his performances this spring, while a true freshman also playing baseball, killed Clint Trickett's dream right where it stood. He's really really good.
That too. EJM is pretty much Hellen Keller running the option.
Yeah EJ blows
I laughed so hard at his draft pick, if I was an NFL draft decision maker... I would have watched the first half of the UF game, turned it off before it ended... and removed his name tag from my board, its that simple
I wouldn't even need to interview him, wouldn't give two shits what he had to say
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
I would have drafted him with joy in the early third round and sat him for two years behind maybe Carson Palmer in Arizona.
Hopefully Ponder leaps forward this year because EJ will further sully Jimbo's professional QB resume.
People that blame college coaches for NFL performances are retards
Saban and Fisher's job is to get them there, that is it... what they do from there is not their problem
The fact Jimbo could even get EJ in the first round is amazing
He wasn't exactly impressive in the second half either.
His career is already over, going to the Jets was a perfect match.
Saban hasn't had a single decent QB in the NFL but that hasn't hurt his ability to recruit.
I mentioned him because my point was players in general
Not just QB's
A college coaches job is to get them NFL ready, if the kid makes the NFL... the coach has done his job imo
If said player busts or becomes a HOF player, the NFL coaches should get credit.... not the college one
For example, giving Bowden credit for Brooks becoming a NFL HOF, is a tad ridiculous.... he could get some, Im okay with that, but acting like he is solely responsible doesn't add up to me

I don't even really think it is their job to get them ready for the NFL. It is their job to win games.
Yeah I agree, but if I coached I would make that part of my job
The best thing to sell to big time recruits is " hey, look at my resume... I will get you to the NFL "
Agreed. It's the individuals job to get the individual ready for the NFL. Coaches are hired to win games, not get players ready for the draft.
that's something I've noticed as well. Winston should fix that
was just a bigger jacory basically. .
Winston is honestly one qb I'd be legitimately worried about going against if his play matches his hype/potential, as much as i hate to say that. . Definitely one thing we can agree on, as of now he is damn special
EJ Manual or Denard for shittiest awesome QB?
You're not a shitty awesome QB if you play WR in the Senior Bowl, you're just a shitty QB.
Jimbo really is the greatest QB coach of all time. he made Jamarcus freaking Russell into the #1 overall pick. that really says something about the influence he had over russell since he must have kept him in line when he was at LSU because god knows russell went full retard in the league.
FSU Ambassador to the masses
exactly. i can think of a certain UF qb who was great in college and completely awful in the league. people dogged urban meyer for not developing him as an NFL prospect when its his job to win games, not get the guy on the NFL level
Watch the nc st game from last year,Oklahoma game from 2012 and both UF games. When he ran the read option he really looked clueless. He had 2 6'5 wr. How the fvck do you over throw a 6'5 wr 40 yards down the field? His best game at fsu was Clemson last year and that's because Clemson field high school defenses. They made made EJ and CLINT FVCKN TRICKETT!!! Trickett almost threw for 400 in DEATH VALLEY. Lol that's pathetic.
