Clint trickett is going back home to be a mountaineer
Big 12 taking ACC scraps now?
How funny would it be to see WVU and FSU in a bowl game with Lil Trickett as the QB?

I feel like Trickett > Winston IMO
It will have to be a bcs bowl, because we are shooting for no lower than the orange bowl. Also Clint would get shown no mercy by our defense.
while he lacks trickets elite athleticism and big arm, i do like winstons potential a couple years down the road
Agreed. Winston did have the chance to learn under Trickett for a year and a half.
It was either going to be freshman ford childress of trickett starting. 9 times out of 10 a fresh starter has a rough time so I am happy. Worst case trick is on the bench coaching ford up the next 2 years. Best case he has a productive final 2 years and helps us be better than we would have been. I dont see any downsides here.
your starting QB will appear, from the stands or TV screens, to be a middle school girl in pads?
Trickett will read this, post in locker and work all off season to pump up a extra 3 and a half pounds for the opener vs bama in 14. You f'd up now
i forgot about that game....hopefully lorenzo carter is ready to come off the edge as a true frosh by then
Trickett in Holgerson offense is best fit since Tebow to Jets.
Good call smitty. Not sure who or why they think this would be a good fit. The only things Trickett can escape is a big meal, and the weight room. He is a sitting duck in the pocket.
Heard an interview awhile back with Childress on local radio. Of course tone of interview was its Childress's offense now. Wonder how he reacted to the news.
The Holgorsen system is supposed to be about a quick release, and lots of screens. You definitely do not have to be a big athlete.
With that said Freshman Ford Childress is 6'5 235 compared to 6'3 185 pound Trickett. So its obvious who could handle punishment better.
I still dont see a drawback here. If he doesnt start he still may play the majority the first few games then coach up the young guys the rest of the way. A lot of people hint he may be a good coach one day. Maybe he wants to learn this system for that reason.

Can't throw screens all day, just make sure the back up QB is ready the first time Clint breaks the pocket
Also i disagree with the statement that you don't have to be an athlete to run that system.

Best of luck to him. Pure class and works his ass off. He was screwed the day Winston chose FSU.
Trickett is no bigger than 175, don't believe the listed weight on him.... ever
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Hes put on a lot of weight since getting diagnosed with celiac disease a little over a year ago.
No, he hasn't
They just say that so fans like you buy it and thus him not getting made fun of as much
The kid has gained maybe 3 pounds since he arrived at FSU
He has been on WVU team for less than a day.
FSU fans have watched him for three years.
Who knows more? Most of us watched him during the spring game. (twig midget compared to Coker and Winston)
He isn't a pound over 175.
And it wouldn't shock me if 175 was inflated some
If he stepped on a scale and registered a 167 or so, I would believe it without hesitation
Really dont get why you all are so hell bent on commenting about him like that. Worst case we have a quality back up and he geys a better chance to play. You guys are loaded at qb and it wont hurt you. Win win.
At 6'3 I bet you 1k he is at least 177.
He isn't 6'3" either
He is maybe 6'2"
Dude is small as hell and he isn't a capable backup either, quit dreaming
FSU has lost every game he ever played in, true story.... outside of garbage time against D2 schools
