The government will do what they dam well please.
I would think an "fsu fan" would know more about FSU than to post something like this.
did not read
As I do with most of your posts
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Sure the government can get involved. They would then piss off the Seminole tribes (taking a substantial amount of money out of someone's pockets will do that) and would end up with a big mess on their hands. Seriously think about it.....I believe that the Seminole tribe of Florida is comprised of only 3000 - 3500 people. I would imagine that the one in Oklahoma (I think it was OK) would number around the same. I believe that these two are the only Seminole tribes left (again could be wrong). If true you, you have around 7000 individuals splitting a percentage of all the sales of FSU merchandise. Maybe I am way off base but I would think that would add up to a large amount of money. In addition to that the Seminole nation collaborated with FSU on the creation of Chief Osceola, his costume, and even his war paint. I would imagine it would be difficult to claim that you found your own creation offensive.
I honestly believe that a good amount of sports teams will be forced to change their names. Luckily FSU had the foresight to work closely with, and get the support of, the Seminole tribe.

Thank god, I would cry for weeks if FSU changed its name
And in all honesty it would likely be enough to ruin my fanhood
Same goes for the Skins, Im down if they change anything about the name/logo
I would to love to know what percentage of merchandising the Seminole tribe of Florida gets and if they have to share it with the tribe in Oklahoma. If they also have gambling revenues, they are making some serious bank. I have a friend whose father in law is 100% native American- I cannot remember the exact tribe. He gets over $6700 a month just for being a member of the tribe. Granted he had to jump through hoops to verify his ancestry, but once he was officially acknowledge as a member he started getting checks.
What if he wanted to name the team "N*gga Slaves?"
I'd vote for that
You won't be full of these jokes after the Cowgirls draft EJ Manuel ha ha ha
It will be at least another 15 years till you beat the Skins again if that happens
The rules don't apply to you, everyone knows that.
DON'T YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON ME RICKY BOBBY

What ticks me off is The Tribe was named after an indian who got beaned in the head and died. They were the Cleveland Spiders then. Now all the indian tribe members want the name and the logo gone.
A few items of note here:
1. There is no interested party to the Seminole name except for the Tribe that currently agrees to the usage that FSU uses.
2. FSU has already settled their apparent Seminole naming issue, so it is really pointless to include FSU ITT.
Redskins are most likely to change their mascot, given their affiliation/location with DC.
Hmm this thread is still here
