Just like I told the other guy who said that....you cant hold that against Bama. They go out and recruit those guys and develop them
So when a QB has good passing numbers its only cause he has better receivers?? Stupid statement that Yeldon is better cause Oline.
Both back are very good and should have nice college careers.
I have to agree. Very silly
While i like reading and sometimes posting, there are the biggest idiots and or comments on this board that make it difficult sometimes to read on conversate
BTW--Wish all the best for Marcus, feel terrible for that guy and has a tough road of rehab again
Just for reference:
Gurley 138 carries - 857 yards - 6.21 ypc - 10 TDs - 9 rec - 80 yards - 0 TD - 147 offensive touches - 937 yards - 6.37 ypt - 10 TDs
Yeldon 104 carries - 725 yards - 6.97 ypc - 7 TDs - 8 rec - 122 yards - 1 TD - 112 offensive touches - 847 yards - 7.56 ypt - 8 TDs
In SEC games:
Gurley 120 carries - 646 yards - 5.38 ypc - 7 TDs
Yeldon 77 carries - 526 yards - 6.83 ypc - 6 TDs
Football is a team sport so of course one unit will benefit from another unit being elite.. your post is just, dumb
Yeldon is a good back , buti as of today i wouldn't take him over Gurley
Pulling out the stats...I like it
my earlier statement holds true. I am well aware its a team sport...the basis was just cause he has a better oline. and yes better supporting cast will help and individual, never said that wasnt the case, where did you get that.
Please let me know where you are confused..Said both are very good backs
How about almost 7 yards per carry against LSU's D?

Hmmmm....looks like a close race with Yeldon maybe even a little ahead, and Yeldon isn't even the "starter".
Just file this next to the rest of the annual UGA arguments of "Our player is better than yours!". Let's see, past arguments have included:
AJ> Julio (probably, but both are studs)
Rennie Curran> Rolando McClain (HA!)
They have so much penis envy for Bama. The good thing is, we will probably get to see Yeldon and Gurley go heads up in Atlanta. Gurley is a monster for sure, but so is Yeldon. This argument is extremely premature.
Yeldon - 10 carries 29 yards and a very huge fumble that ended a key drive
Gurley- 11 carries 119 yards 10.5 YPC 1 TD
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
nice bump.. lol
Johnny Dwight commits to Bama on 6/4/13 ranked the 44th DT in the nation by 247sports and 87 rating a 3 star. Now see the Bama bump.
Thread has crickets in it this week, wonder why?
because its obvious Duke Johnson is better than both
i would take gurley over yeldon at this point in their careers
exactly gurley is better now, but i think yeldon will be better.
will be interesting too see who ends up 2nd behind Duke
I haven't seen Yeldon run with power and he carries the ball away from his body too much.
keep living the dream man
You guys are going to drive yourself crazy watching every carry between these 2. 3 weeks ago, we saw Gurley put up 47 yards on 12 carries against UK and last week we saw Yeldon put up over 100 total yards and 2 TDs against LSU. These guys are frosh and they are expected to have good and bad games.
I'm more than pleased with Yeldon and he has far exceeded my expectations. That said, Cooper is our best frosh this year. That kid is going to be a real star in this league. I think he is better than Julio Jones was at this point in their careers.
Not.better than AJ though
i kid i kid
Yeldon wishes he was a Gurley man! :)
Yeldon, Gurley, (and Marshall) are three very impressive freshman backs in the SEC this year.
Gurley has been the most productive of the three. Yeldon is oozing with talent. He's slippier than Richardson/Ingram, but not mack truck tough like those guys. Gurley's more fit for those previous heisman winner molds. Doesn't mean Yeldon's anything less, just a different mold of a running back.
(for current stats sake)
Gurley - 149 att - 973 yds - 6.5 avg - 11 tds
Yeldon - 114 att - 754 yds - 6.6 avg - 8 tds
Marshall - 93 att - 625 yds - 6.7 avg - 6 tds
