I'll admit that I'm only halfway through the second one of three, so I don't how they end, but I'm skeptical on whether these teenagers really did those unspeakable crimes to those three 8 year old kids.
At this point, it just seems odd to me that a couple of idiot kids were able to sexually rape and mutilate three children and wipe away all evidence at all. They got a statement from a kid with a 72 IQ level and didn't document any of the two hours of interrogation, on what is technically retarded by his IQ level, before his confession. Needless to say, the evidence shown in court should not have gotten guilty convictions. I could be wrong if the kids admit it in the third documentary, but right now, I certainly have my doubts.
It's on HBO on Demand if anyone hasn't seen these. Interesting to say the least. The basic premise was that these kids were satanic because they were goth kids in Arkansas in the early 90's.
Favorite documentary of all time is the first one.
The West Memphis Three. www.wm3.org All three of them took a plea deal which set them free.
Good documentary. I believe another one is about to be released as well.
No way those kids committed those murders.
There are 3 already. I don't know what the next one could possibly be about since they have been released from prison.
Might be new developments into who actually did it
I have no doubts it was Terry Hobbs, but for whatever reason that police department/city protected him
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
And I agree with you Nova. Think he's more than likely the killer. Also don't forget about the mysterious guy that showed up at the Bojangles Chicken that night too. Crazy story.
Review: From director Amy Berg, in collaboration with first time Producers Damien Echols and Lorri Davis along with filmmakers Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh...
I just finished the third one and can't believe it. This "Alfred Plea" that they took is such a joke that I don't know what to say. I honestly understand why they took it though. I mean 18 years in a maximum/supermax facility for 18 years is enough for shit you didn't have anything to do with. Still, if they waited one more year, they would have gotten millions each from that state.
Was glad to see that Byers father get on the three kids sides. I thought during the second movie that he did it. I know feel that it was the Hobbs guy as well.

1- dude was on death row, not sure if he had another year to wait for IIRC that was the whole reason they didn't wait any longer ( or couldn't wait any longer )
2- the alfred plea was certainly a joke, but something the courts had to do in order to save money and face for such a blunder
Overall its one of the most ridiculous things that has ever happened in the US court system
Rednecks will redneck as they say
Yeah I remember the Jason Baldwin kid saying that he wanted to fight it but that he took the plea agreement for Echols' sake. Did they ever say when his execution date was? I just have a hard time believing that the governor would allow an execution with that much publicity to happen while a hearing on DNA evidence was scheduled for a few months after that.
I mean they had Eddie Vedder and the Dixie Chicks championing for those kids. You would think that the governor would have been crucified if he would have let that execution take place. I also don't think that the execution date was set, so he would have had to have some months to go. I don't think they could have when the DNA evidence hearing had been set.
I'm just guessing on that though. I still don't blame them for saying fvck it and going free anyway.
