Is coach Gomez stupid, seriously staffers... you need to rethink this one, not sure who came up with this boner of an idea but it needs to be axed
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
I think it's a great idea. Gives everyone a level playing field so Urbs doesn't have 15 5 stars every recruiting class.
ECU grad, tOSU fan for life. Father since 1/12/13.
more 5*s = more teams with 5*s = more excitement = more traffic
I think its beyond funny to have a set number, it means that kids will get 5 stars just because they are ranked in the top 32
Agreed, it's a waste but it's better for business
" better for business " is what made Rivals and Scout laughable jokes these days
Better for business = more accounts
More accounts = more retards
More retards = Board starts declining like it steadily has been
Not a big deal though, message boards will always message board
I agree a set number is dumb. Some classes have more actual five stars than others and vice versa. If a kids a five star it should be based on criteria not because their is an actual set number the staff has to meet. Pretty much just lessens the value of 5 star having a set number.
^This as well as everything Nova said. I think it's ridiculous because it's totally out of character with the 247 MO. You guys have the best/most thorough research/analyisis by a long shot, but having a quota on something like this is pardon my french but Scout-esque. Change for the sake of change is not good IMO.

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
As long as they never do player interviews Im good
Nothing is worse than player interviews, nothing
i get both sides.
if you are judging based on just a single year of recruits, comparing only that 1 class to each other, and then saying these 32 are our guess at most likely to make pros, or these 22 are most likely the make AA, or whatever #/criterion you use, then it makes sense in a way.
however, and i prefer this way, if you are just judging on pure talent, comparing to anyone who plays the game, will this kid be an instant impact regardless of who else is on roster type judgement, then not having a set # is most logical. cause some years there will be 40 kids who are ridiculous, and some years only 10.
i like the non-set # way better, gives you more of a feel of how good the players are, but i can see the thought process behind the 32 set #.
Funny comin from you.

Im not a retard, Im a troll
All boards need some trolls
Idiots ? not so much, need less PSU posters too imo... every time I see your schools logo I think of those poor kids getting fingered in their anus
Not saying you're retarded. just saying that ppl who seem to troll exclusively make the board worse. Sorry that me posting makes you think about something that not a single victim said happened to them, little sick actually.

They were too embarrassed to mention that part
I don't always troll either, some of my posts are factual internet gold
No no they aren't.
Was the first part of your post an example of that factual Internet gold?
Yes they are, you may not like my style and that is fine
But acting like I don't understand college football is funny
Auburn just overpaid for one of the worst staffs ever put together, Saban is probably laughing his ass off
That is an example of internet gold ^^^ and 100% fact, not opinion
Yup, the players on your team right now are really bad too
No way this recruiting class helps that much right away
I'd be shocked if Auburn won 6 games next year
The 32 5* rule only makes sense if all players played 4 years before they went to the draft. I'm not going to waste my time doing it but I bet you would be hard pressed to find a single recruiting class where they had exactly 32 1st rounders in it. Some classes are better and have more 1st rounders some classes are worse and have few first rounders.
Basically as a poster mentioned earlier this just changes the interpretation of the stars. It changes from ranking is directly proportional to ability to get drafted, to ranking = Top 32, Top ..., Top ..., and so on. Essentially it means a five star in one class is not the same as a five star in another class. In a week class the 32nd ranked player one year may be the 50th ranked player dropping him to a 4 star (the same player, with the same talent, with the same potential to get drafted).
i agree, its a god awful idea
i think you guys should just rely on your instincts and your criteria that has made you so good to begin with.
Some years will have more talent than others.
if its a 20 5*'s year then make it 20 5*'s that year. dont bump 12 guys for the hell of it
if its a 50 5*'s year then make it 50 5*'s that year. dont penalize 18 kids for the hell of it.
a set number is just batshit crazy in my opinion

$50 bet with Rebels10 - Best of 3 Egg Bowls
**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
Wait, there are 5star players?!? I need to call chip and tell him about this.
It does make sense to me to have over a 4 year span around 128 (32 X 4) five stars. I'm just not sold on the idea of accomplishing that by having exactly 32 in each class.
It just seems like the analyst are putting restraints and regulations that will only handicap their scouting abilities. I guess the only true way to judge this will be in 4 years. Well see how many misses they had before compared to the misses since the change. May be more, may be less.

I think you are missing something.
More new accounts means more people that actually take you seriously for a week or two.
I am sure that would be a fun things for you....although it could lead to more of the banhammer .
