This is a serious question for you guys. Are you at all worried about your run defense? Six teams had 197+ yards on you guys throughout this year. Half of these teams are Bufflao, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Bama should be able to run the ball which will open up the play action. It seems like UGA gives up nearly one 40+ yard pass play per game (9 on the season but you played 2 triple option teams in Ga, Southern and GT).
No, we are not worried. The Alabama offense is not a mystery. They line up and run the ball.
We match up pretty well with your receivers so I expect a lot of bump and run with a 1 high safety.
Our field corner is 6'2 and 220 pounds. Our boundary corner is 6'1 and 190 pounds. Shawn Williams is as physical as any SS in America and our FS, Bacarri Rambo, has a nose for the ball.
Alabama will get their yards. The question is how they do against the Georgia defense inside the red zone when we load the box and play man. We rank 2nd in the SEC and 13th nationally in red zone defense.
Here's something to think about.
In plays of 20 or more yards from scrimmage, Georgia ranks 7th in the nation with 75.
In plays of 30 or more yards from scrimmage, Georgia ranks 3rd in the nation with 38.
In plays of 40 or more yards from scrimmage, Georgia ranks 2nd in the nation with 24.
in plays of 50 or more yards from scrimmage, Georgia ranks 3rd in the nation with 13.
In plays of 60 or more yards from scrimmage, Georgia ranks 5th in the nation with 7.
Good info and way to refute a BOL troll
I was referring to Opponents Long Passing Plays 40+ yds. UGA is 82nd nationally. If Bama has as much success running the ball as Buffalo, Tennessee, or Kentucky I see at least 2 rush TD's in the game. Add in a play action bomb makes 21 points. All we need to do is take care of the ball imo. If we create a turnover or two Bama could roll. I expect a tough game but I was a bit dissapointed with your rush defense (69th nationally). I expected more from the best defense in the country.
You do understand the definition of question, right? (see that was one) A question always ends with a ?.
The only question you asked was, and I quote............Are you at all worried about your run defense?
I answered the question. The answer was no.
Since it seems that you have the game summary all figured out, I suggest now would be a good time to either study grammar structure and style or internet trolling for dummies.
You are correct sir! I did only ask one question, and I added my thoughts on why you may need be concerned with your rush defense. I still think it will open up play action which Bama does very well imo. In your response gave me a list of things to think about. After reviewing the information I determined you did not realize I was talking about long pass plays, which I thought I made clear when I stated "It seems like UGA gives up nearly one 40+ yard pass play per game." As a retort to your response I thought I would post the link showing where Georgia is more apt to give up long pass plays than most FBS teams. I am telling you this information not asking you.
I apologize for taking you wrong and insulting you.
The truth is simple..........we started out with our entire defensive backfield suspended. We played a true freshman, a converted receiver and a walk on to fill in. The absence of Rambo and Ogletree for 4 games was tough. Rambo is a senior and makes the calls on coverage. Ogletree is a phenom and his presence has a huge impact on how we call run fits. They were both missed. The suspension of Commings required us to move Malcolm Mitchell from receiver to corner. Commings has the body of a safety and the skills of a corner. He plays the run very well and is technically sound in coverage.
Here's the thing, Mr. Smith..... for any number of reasons we started out slow on defense. If you watch film of Georgia's defense you will see what you want to know. We are setting the edge, gang tackling and causing turnovers. Right now, at this exact point in the season, we are playing as good as any Georgia defense I can remember.
Speaking only for myself and as honestly as I know how..........I like our chances.

I'm not a bama or DAwg fan and I get what you're saying but I new a new tablet.
What do you recommend and why?
I have to admit... I'm pretty nervous for this game.
I can respect that you like your teams chances. Am I 100% certain Bama will win? No! but I think if we can take care of the ball we will win. You can never tell what will happen when you turn the ball over. I think we can move the ball in the running game as we have all year. In our lone loss we couldn't cantain a mobile QB and we fell behind early because of turnovers. We got out of our running game in order to catch up. AJ had more passing yards than he did all season, but it was far from his best outing. I can't see Murray running on us like Johnny Football, and as a result I think 24 points will win the game. I appreciate your classy response! May the winner bring number seven back to the SEC...
I feel confident Alabama will be successful running the ball. However, with that said, stats are trumped by score.
Murray doesn't need to run for Georgia to have success. He has to remain upright and have time to allow the route tree to work. He needs to throw the ball away or take the sack when Alabama hits the coverage.
With all that said, Georgia has their work cut out for them on both sides of the ball. Alabama is a very tough, very well coached team loaded with talent. It is no accident that they are routinely in the discussion of best teams.
For me this game is a measuring tool to see how Georgia stacks up against a bona fide contender and gain some national respect.
Good luck and may the best team win.
That was an awesome game. Thankfully we pulled that out!
Congratulations, Mr. Smith....you were dead on with the running game theory.
H/T to the Heffalumps.
Not being a dick but this is exactly why numbers mean nothing. Great game tonight and the Dawgs deserve a BCS Bowl.
You should have been worried!
Bama, UGA, and UF all deserve BCS games. Need to get rid of the two team conference limit anyways. UGA very much deserves a BCS game.
