At the same time, people need to drop terminology like machine gun IMO. Not directing this at you, but it's an insatiable comment that posses no conversational value. There is too much uneducated conversation about guns from pretty much every angle. Either people are saying the gubmint is jus' takin' my shit, or the government needs to take all of these scary machine guns away because no one "needs" that. Why should I expect anything else; just listen to political discussion from the top down. Rant over...
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
A knife-wielding man injured 22 children and one adult outside a primary school in central China as students were arriving for classes Friday, police said, the latest in a series of periodic rampage attacks at Chinese schools and kindergartens.
I'm lost. So you are saying this mans insurance attacked these people? And thank God he didn't have an assault weapon. Instead of zero casualties everyone would probably be dead.
Congrats on being intentionally obtuse. The point was that people who want to prey on the most defenseless in society are going to. It was actually a miracle that no one died, but that clearly wasn't the case in the other school attacks in China. That's just like virtually everyone being shot in a mass shooting, or being shot in general, dying is not the case. Banning assault rifles and other weapons doesn't keep you safe from the Adam Lanzas of the world. Those guys are going to attack people even if it's with a knife. For someone who has spent 2 pages trying to tell everyone how smart they are, you have said some dumb shit at times. You're sharper than this weedline...
First, I've never said we need to ban assault rifles. In fact, again, I've said countless times that I don't care what someone has in their home. I just don't want to hear the BS about protection.
2nd, no, you are not going to stop someone hell bent on killing someone. I said that too ITT. But if that guy had carried an assault weapon into that classroom they would all be dead. All I'm saying is, I can see how people would be of the opinion that limiting those who own them would cut down on those events. If you make it harder to get your hands on one, then I don't see how anyone can debate that.
Way to pull a page out of Obama's play book. Nobody had even mentioned children. You went from telling us how to defend our homes to telling us all what we need based on what you think everyone needs to misrepresenting comments to fit your ideas.
We get it that you think you are smarter than everyone and people who disagree with you are special. I appreciate your need to tell me what I need. I own assault rifles because I want to, not need to.
To be fair you don't know they would all be dead. The Newtown shooting was bizarre in the fact more died than were wounded; it's virtually always the other way around. However, I can't say it wouldn't have turned out just like Newton.
I don't get the argument on cutting down on these events by banning, that's what I assume you mean when you say limiting, assault rifles. During the theater shooting the AR jammed and the guy used pistols and a shotgun. ABC news retracted their statement about a Bushmaster M4 being used in the Newtown shooting, and stated there were, IIRC, 4 handguns found by federal officials inside the school. However, the coroner said the deaths were caused by a 5.56 round. I'll let whoever wants to debate that one have at it. News stations originally, and inaccurately, reported that an assault rifle had been used in the Oregon mall shooting. The guy was carrying a Glock IIRC. Oddly enough, that guy was stopped by someone with a CCL.
The issue is with the individual not the weapons platform. The link I showed, even though there were no deaths in that ONE incident, nut jobs do what they do. We both agree there though. I just don't see the evidence supporting banning the weapons when they weren't the primary weapons used. Even if AR's didn't exist those events still happen.

I may not be smarter than everyone, but I am most definitely smarter than you. You think it's a good idea comparing insurance to murder. Weedline > You....10 year old Weedline > You....Minority Weedline > You
you my boy weed
Dont waste ur time man
You must feel really dumb about that comment to now be acting like I'm the one that made it.
I can see your maturity level so it now makes sense why you type some of the bs that you type.
This would work too
How did you jump this to murder. You clearly stated you had no problem with people owning the guns. Are you now going anti gun because of these killings?
Quick change of opinion.
This would work well
You haven't typed the same response over and over, only smug comments that make no sense. You agreed with Biden's statement and everyone who disagrees with his home protection advice is an idiot to you. We get it. But since you have proven yourself completely ignorant on the subject please quit acting like an expert.
And what subject would that be? Defending myself against a platoon of home invaders? Or shooting a shotgun? Because neither me nor you will ever have to use a gun to defend ourselves at our home. So GTFO with that. So it has to be the shotgun, right? Well, I shot one every Summer since I was 10. If your wife can't handle a shotgun, she sure as hell is not going to defend herself against 4 men trying to kill her. She's dead, just like you if you were there. So tell me again how having an assault rifle for your wife will keep her safe. I think it's great you live in a country that panders to idiots. You wouldn't have survived in one that didn't.
OK, maybe that last part was a little harsh.
It was a little harsh but besides today I normally like your posts. Having an assault rifle for my wife wont keep her safe because I dont let her mess with it. She has a handgun for that. Never in my posts did I endorse keeping an AR15 for home defense. My whole argument was that Biden's advice was terrible. I am glad you have used shotguns. Its a right of passage for us Alabama boys. I am not a gun nut. I am a financial advisor married to a pediatrician. I was born in "over the mountain" birmingham and moved to North Alabama because my wife wanted to help in an underserved county of Alabama. She has been threatened three times in the last year for working with DHR to remove children from the homes of Meth-heads and a guy that abused bath salts. These are not rational people and the experience has caused her to change her position on guns in the home(she doesnt practice was she preaches anymore). I never said I could take out four intruders; I just feel like I have a much better chance of defending myself with more than a single shot weapon. You are a deep sea fisher. It may be a terrible analogy but a single shot weapon for home defense is like a cane pole for fishing cobia in Destin; it may work but there are much better options. I am all for gun safety classes and much more rigorous background checks; I just think the whole AR15 panic is much do to about nothing. Now I will go back to trolling these boards instead of giving opinions. Best to you.
It's not a bad analogy. I used to tournament fish for a living and oh how many times did I have that 1 guy who had no clue but wanted to insert his opinion on the luck of fishing, and the pointlessness of multiple rods/endless tackle and fast boats.
According to him with his 1 rod and few baits he could fish with anybody from the bank. I would explain to him how fishing was all about maximizing opportunity and being efficient, giving yourself the best chance in other words.
Sure he could catch fish with one rod and a few baits, but he wasn't giving himself the best chance to catch fish. Sure a double barrel shotgun will be sufficient in most break-ins/whatever, but it's not the best weapon to use.
I personally don't believe I need a AR-15 for home defense, that guy at the shows didn't think he needed multiple rods and tackle to out-fish other people.
