You didn't need to take it that far..
Absolutely, & FWIW I'm not disagreeing with Va Tech being a solid program in that time period, but none of that ish has any bearing on the game in a few weeks.

Something to the tune of 38-3. I wish VT would step their recruiting up a couple of notches. Letting UVA get 2 top 10 players this cycle is garbage regardless of how good of a recruiter London is.
Yup if that was the case I would say well the last time we played we were leading going into the 4th quarter. That means we should be able to win this time.
Look at the rest of their class and make your own opinion. They have 2 5 stars committed and nobody good wants to go play with them.
VT 38-10. Not engraved in granite. Bama could hold us to 35, and they could manage 13.
There is no way they don't annihilate them
Are we still doing DA post of the week?
This could win it for the year actually
I think you can see I agree. So why is the line only 19? We lost 4 or 5 fairly important people this week, and the line didn't budge.
The only thing I can think of is Bama will probably run a lot, run clock, and have something like a 24 point lead and then the starters will come out. Maybe VT backdoors us latw and loses by 17?
Then again, in the lead up to the national title game my friends and I couldn't get over the Bama-ND line. It seemed too good to be true at Bama -10. We loaded up on it and Bama won by 28.
I think Vegas has a hard time setting the lines high enough when Bama plays "good" teams. If you look at the past 2 years (especially away from home), Bama has easily covered most games where they played good but not great teams. Against elite teams and very weak teams (especially at home) Bama does not cover as often. This is probably because we really don't have a home field advantage (the team seems more focused on the road, plus the home crowd being quiet helps our D with their checks).
And I wouldn't bank on Bama overlooking VT because of A&M. In the past 2 years Bama has been extremely good at maintaining a high level of performance regardless of the opponent or situation. Sure they have good games and not so good games, but the only teams that haven't been completely dominated in the last 2 years were all top teams.
I like VT fans, thread shows they are good folks. Feel bad getting so many injured right before the game. They got 2 weeks to prepare like we do. Hope y'all do really well this season (minus the Bama game of course)
Come on brother you can give us one.
Bama didn't cover against UGA, LSU and TAMU; only top 15 team they covered against was ND. Vegas usually makes the line higher than normal when bama plays top teams I think that's why they usually dont cover against the elite teams.

Sounds about right
It's a nice thought that bama be looking ahead. Just don't see it happening. We ready for our whooping.
We will take it like men... I have my liquor ready
Think I'll pick up a quart of shine for this one.
Free money IMO
Because it doesnt matter who VT puts on the field...the line will move up to 21 and the only reason it is 30+ is because Saban calls off the dogs early, and even earlier in the first game of the year
Before I make my pick I want to hear from those VT fans that were boasting about being SEC ready when the rumors were flying about the SEC potentially being interested in inviting them, and lets hear from those SEC fans that agreed with them as well.. I just want to have all of my info before I pick..
Of course not, the players rarely factor into the outcome of a game
What I am saying is watch any game last 2 years vs any team not named LSU or Texas A&M and the scores are always really close. 35+ points and 10 or less by the other team....the starters are out mid 3rd quarter. If you played your first second or last team the score will be the same regardless...not much difference in the outcome. We will take our starters out whenever we have a good enough lead, and Saban will be mad at a player for scoring a TD while being up 35+ points. (Watch Blake Sims get chewed out for scoring against Arkansas up 38)
Yeah there is a lot that plays into it. Bama covers lines when they have time to prepare. For example, Michigan and Notre Dame. And after a game like Michigan, Vegas sets the lines higher and makes it tough for Bama to cover the rest of the year. Its either Vegas underestimates the SEC compared to Bama, or Bama and Saban are that much better with time to prepare. If that makes sense.
