YH it's like they don't want to win the election.
That makes you a libertarian. Most Americans trend toward libertarian viewpoint when polled issue by issue.
Should we get rid of antibiotics, too? Sick people are just weak, right? Darwinism and all.
I actually like Chris Christie he's a charismatic guy but might be kinda of a loose cannon

Its retarded, hopefully they come to their senses. I'm not getting my hopes up though.
Yea. I have the feeling he would say something controversial and it would hurt him too much.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
I'm a liberal and like Christie, he's like the old republicans not the crazy ones that you see today.
I took a poll for my AP Government class and the test came back saying I was a Post-Modern, meaning I identified with democrats, but it was basically being independent.
I dunno if I "became" anything. The beliefs I've held for as long as I've been old enough to care about politics have been liberal.
As I stated I support welfare for children and disabled. Just not old people, fat people, and selfish people.
If you eat yourself into a early grave you shouldn't become societies burden, if you take hardcore drugs the same should apply.
I don't see how welfare for these kind of people equates a medicine for everyone? That is the entitlement speaking.
If you have the free choice to ruin your life nobody should be forced to pay to try saving you.
I was just playing the extremist game. The other side of the coin being, "Why should I pay for anyone ever?"
Yea he's someone most people like no matter what party. He'd be great in debates too and doesn't take any shit which is great.
Only if the elderly are fat and selfish IMO.
Well by definition they are lol. But yeah, calling them that is a streeeeeetch.
Lulz I was in Dallas at the Cowboys Thanksgiving game when Big W. came on JerryTv dude is loved
Social security was made for those off giving their lives for their country over seas after WWII.
They made meager salaries and couldn't afford to retire because of that.
Please tell me how the entitled American of today who takes 2 months of vacation and works 30 hours a week while making 50k+ can't afford to put aside money to retire?
Also here is the definition of welfare.
Did you really mean it in that way? Or in this way:
"Statutory procedure or social effort designed to promote the basic physical and material well-being of people in need."
I just thought it was funny
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
Can someone give me an UV in the name of Merica?
The biggest thing I don't like about liberals is that most I come in contact get angry very quickly, got all kinds of "causes", always picketing and petitioning stuff, and a bunch of other things I could get banned for so I won't say. And I'm not even a conservative
The wealthy in this country are doing an incredible job at getting the middle class to blame the poor of this country for income inequality issues. Since it seems to be the Christian right guys that we always argue with in other threads that are anti liberal. I thought it would be interesting to provide them with the Bible's views on how to view the poor.
Prov. 19:17 When you help the poor you are lending to the Lord--and he pays wonderful interest on your loan!
1 John 3:17 But if someone who is supposed to be a Christian has money enough to live well, and sees a brother in need, and won't help him--how can God's love be within him ? 1 John 3:18 Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions. 1 John 3:19 Then we will know for sure, by our actions, that we are on God's side, and our consciences will be clear, even when we stand before the Lord.
Prov. 14:31 Anyone who oppresses the poor is insulting God who made them. To help the poor is to honor God.
James 1:27 The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father's point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord--not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.
Psa. 82:3 Give fair judgment to the poor man, the afflicted, the fatherless, the destitute. Psa 82:4 Rescue the poor and helpless from the grasp of evil men.
Prov. 21:13 He who shuts his ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in his own time of need.
Prov. 28:27 If you give to the poor, your needs will be supplied! But a curse upon those who close their eyes to poverty.
Prov. 22:9 Happy is the generous man, the one who feeds the poor.
1 Tim. 6:17 Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 1 Tim. 6:18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. 1 Tim. 6:19 By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven--it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.
Mat. 25:34 "Then I, the King, shall say to those at my right, 'Come, blessed of my Father, into the Kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world. Mat. 25:35 For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me water; I was a stranger and you invited me into your homes; Mat. 25:36 naked and you clothed me; sick and in prison, and you visited me.' Mat. 25:37 "Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Sir, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you anything to drink? Mat. 25:38 Or a stranger, and help you? Or naked, and clothe you? Mat. 25:39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' Mat. 25:40 "And I, the King, will tell them, 'When you did it to these my brothers you were doing it to me!' Mat. 25:41 Then I will turn to those on my left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. Mat. 25:42 For I was hungry and you wouldn't feed me; thirsty, and you wouldn't give me anything to drink; Mat 25:43 a stranger, and you refused me hospitality; naked, and you wouldn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.' Mat. 25:44 "Then they will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?' Mat 25:45 "And I will answer, 'When you refused to help the least of these my brothers, you were refusing help to me.' Mat. 25:46 "And they shall go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into everlasting life."
Luke 3:9 The axe of his judgment is poised over you, ready to sever your roots and cut you down. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire." Luke 3:10 The crowd replied, "What do you want us to do?" Luke 3:11 "If you have two coats," he replied, "give one to the poor. If you have extra food, give it away to those who are hungry."
Luke 6:38 For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give--large or small--will be used to measure what is given back to you."
(KING JAMES VERSION) Mat. 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. Mat. 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Mat. 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Luke 12:30 All mankind scratches for its daily bread, but your heavenly Father knows your needs. Luke 12:31 He will always give you all you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Luke 12:32 "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. Luke 12:33 Sell what you have and give to those in need. This will fatten your purses in heaven! And the purses of heaven have no rips or holes in them. Your treasures there will never disappear; no thief can steal them; no moth can destroy them. Luke 12:34 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.
Luke 10:27 "It says," he replied, "that you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind. And you must love your neighbor just as much as you love yourself. Luke 10:28 "Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you shall live!" Luke 10:29 The man wanted to justify (his lack of love for some kinds of people), so he asked, "Which neighbors?" Luke 10:30 Jesus replied with an illustration: "A Jew going on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes and money, and beat him up and left him lying half dead beside the road. Luke 10:31 "By chance a Jewish priest came along; and when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. Luke 10:32 A Jewish Temple-assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but then went on. Luke 10:33 "But a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw him, he felt deep pity. Luke 10:34 Kneeling beside him the Samaritan soothed his wounds with medicine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his donkey and walked along beside him till they came to an inn, where he nursed him through the night. Luke 10:35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two twenty-dollar bills and told him to take care of the man. 'If his bill runs higher than that,' he said, 'I'll pay the difference the next time I am here.' Luke 10:36 "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the bandits' victim?" Luke 10:37 The man replied, "The one who showed him some pity." Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same."
2 Cor. 9:7 Everyone must make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Don't force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes. 2 Cor. 9:8 God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more so that there will not only be enough for your own needs but plenty left over to give joyfully to others. 2 Cor. 9:9 It is as the Scriptures say: "The godly man gives generously to the poor. His good deeds will be an honor to him forever." 2 Cor. 9:10 For God, who gives seed to the farmer to plant, and later on good crops to harvest and eat, will give you more and more seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more fruit from your harvest. 2 Cor. 9:11 Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much, and when we take your gifts to those who need them they will break out into thanksgiving and praise to God for your help. 2 Cor. 9:12 So two good things happen as a result of your gifts--those in need are helped, and they overflow with thanks to God. 2 Cor 9:13 Those you help will be glad not only because of your generous gifts to themselves and to others, but they will praise God for this proof that your deeds are as good as your doctrine. 2 Cor. 9:14 And they will pray for you with deep fervor and feeling because of the wonderful grace of God shown through you. 2 Cor. 9:15 Thank God for his Son--his Gift too wonderful for words.
Isa. 58:6 "No, the kind of fast I want is that you stop oppressing those who work for you and treat them fairly and give them what they earn. Isa. 58:7 I want you to share your food with the hungry and bring right into your own homes those who are helpless, poor, and destitute. Clothe those who are cold, and don't hide from relatives who need your help. Isa. 58:8 "If you do these things, God will shed his own glorious light upon you. He will heal you; your godliness will lead you forward, goodness will be a shield before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind. Isa. 58:9 Then, when you call, the Lord will answer. 'Yes, I am here,' he will quickly reply. All you need to do is to stop oppressing the weak and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors! Isa. 58:10 "Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. Isa. 58:11 And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.
This God guy sounds like a bleeding heart liberal to me:)
Way too much to read cause of the little ADHD thing I struggle with.
I agree with you it is the churches responsibility to take care of people not government
