If you were a GM of an NFL team, how much would you give up to get next years #1 draft spot?
2 1st round and 2 2nd round picks?
3 & 3?
We all know Clowney is going #1, barring injury of course, so what's your number?
Clowney will be a phenomenal talent in the NFL. Lets look at this objectively, The Falcons moved from up from 27 to 6 to draft Julio Jones. In terms of compensation they gave up a first round picks, a second, a fourth, that year and a first and fourth round pick the following year. So a team like the Falcons would have to to give up 5 first round picks in just initial compensation to have a chance at picking him. Which player non QB in the NFL is worth 5 first round picks?
Everything has a price. I know everything comes into play. But let me put it a different way. Say you have the 1st pick. What would it take for you to give up that spot?
What would it take to give up JC?
As great as Clowney is depending on which team gets the #1 pick you almost have to trade out. The amount of picks you can recieve for a player like him can make a bad team into a contender. If you're a team that isn't too far out from being in playoff contention and already have a strong young foundation no way you trade out of that pick.
Exactly. As a Bills fan, if the Bills end up with #1, we absolutely try to trade out. Our DL is already solid, and while Clowney is a once-in-a-decade talent, we have so many needs that multiple 1sts and extra picks are more valuable than Clowney.
I agree with this. He will help a defense that's already close but what the 1st pick team can get could turn them into a contender in just a few years.
is Mike Ditka still in football?
The Bills run a 3-4, right? Has Clowney ever had to cover someone at USCe? Because he'd be an OLB Jack in a 3-4.
