Just remember when he commits that you got a kid OSU passed on.
That is how I see it. With this we multiplied the number of analyst who have watched and graded a player and the rankings should even out. I like it.
He had his chance and said thanks but no thanks.
I just like how people were acting like this was going to completely change recruiting. New feature coming out!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!
Then we basically just took rankings from the four popular site and averaged them. Thanks!
I like it. Don't get me wrong. Just isn't a ground breaking moment or new idea. Posters have been doing this manually for years for their recruits.
these rankings could easily be considered offensive
*QB-Cody Thomas isnt A top 10 talent
*RB-Zaire Williams looks deserving of 4star status
*WR-Robert Foster a 5 star or simply best the Class of 13 has to offer ?
*TE-Greg Taboada top 10 TE
*OT-Golson isnt a top 5 & its doubtful he should be among the top 20-25.
i could care less as a Bama fan about Derrick Green's ranking. i just hope Tenpenny & Jones ink on NSD w/ the Tide .
Ok. But now that this is done, can you guys please rank the B10 recruiters for us? We can't seem to come to an agreement.
The process of detecting statistical outliers and downweighting them on an individual (by player) basis IS fair. The weights wouldn't be static for any one ranking service. The process is referred to as the outlier detection and downweighting (ODD) procedure, and it is utilized with both parametric and nonparametric statistical tests. While there is no testing being done here, the ranking procedure could still benefit from ODD.
I think the composite's are an interesting idea but I choose to only give real credence to 247's rankings. Scout has too many kids not truly evaluated, Rivals has the Mike Farrell issue and ESPN doesn't evaluate LA at all. They have Chris Taylor as a top 10 player in the state for god's sake and Josh Boutte as a low 3* and like the 60th ranked OG. Absolutely ridiculous. Won't even get into perhaps the top player in the state in Tredavious White. They have Kendell Beckwith #15 in the country. Sorry but I refuse to consider anything with their rankings involved. They're horrible. Their inclusion voids any good that the composite rankings could have. Just my opinion. I'll continue to trust the one site that actually makes an effort to go to LA and scout the talent there. That's 247.
Wait so he didnt commit yesterday, strange thought that was a lock
Anyone who isn't an idiotic homer can tell you who it is, and it ain't Hoke
There aren't team rankings based on the 247Sports ratings, they are only based on the composite ratings.

Kickers are worth more than your crappy five stars.
Exactly. I like that this info is compiled for me (so I no longer have to laboriously do it on my own spreadsheet), but I'd like to also see the 247-only team rankings.

That is very gay
ESPN has Jaylon Smith behind Matthew Thomas... Thats all you need to know about them.
Yea....I'm not a big fan of this at all.
247 rankings should be emphasized on home pages.
^^^^This better be a big line of BS^^^*
Do you realize who you're talking to?
Judging by the "Kickers are worth more than your five-stars" comment, I'm going to go with Silly Homers for $800, Alex.
Good one, chuckles.
being the only recruiting website to compile a "composite rankings" they're being innovative and greatly decreasing the population of fans who feel sites are biased to certain teams over others.
pretty smart move from a business standpoint.
