I prefer not to think about that.. so we will just leave it at a lot.
Just because a beer is rare does not make it good. You list off berliner wiess beers like that is supposed to impress anyone. Germany can't touch the US in the craft beer game.
Founders is one of my favorite breweries but I've never tried the Imperial Stout. I have no doubt it's delicious.
There's no way you're going to better beer bars than where I'm at and where I've gone. Ebeneezer's, Novare Res, Ginger Man, Mekong, and throughout Belgium and Germany is a pretty extensive list.
Cigar City sucks balls. 3 Floyds you get props. Stop trading and go to the places. The experience is much more important than the beer itself.....
You're absolutely wrong to the highest power.
Founders is incredible. They're third in my book to brewers behind Allagash and Dogfish. NOBODY IS BETTER THAN SAM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.
Lots of people needa work in a beer warehouse ITT
There's a reason they still hold to the "law". Get out of Okladokie once in a while Aussie!!
Btw coach I still gotta find time to come to your bar man!
Or a beer bar...
Cigar City sucks balls pretty much confirms what I already suspected.
And no if I am wanting to drink beer, it is about the beer. I agree going to good pubs is fun but the beer is equally important for me. Personally I would rather visit a brewery where they usually have stuff they don't even distribute.
Jersey City, kid! Somebody discovered Merca and the other was our first prez...
Born in Australia and have lived all over.
You can't trade beer at home and think you know what you're talking about with beer. When you own a bar, you get the reps, the brewers, the secrets, the ins and outs, the rares, vintages, collaborations, etc etc etc... Sitting at home and saying YAY! I just got me a great beer on ebay has no justification in the beer world. Very juvenile so to say... Ask people in the know.
If you're on ratebeer or beer advocate or check it for that matter, you should stop this discussion.
Untapped, beer cloud, ice code beer, etc etc etc= I have no idea what good beer truly is...
You've lived in Germany and Belgium? You've lived in Maine? You know Mathieus? Or Chris?
these are first name guys that are the mount rushmores of beer!
so you have a James Boag once in a while, eh??
I have had plenty of rare beers of different vintages and many collaborations. I am not buy beer on ebay. Does anyone do that?
What is your problem with beer websites? They probably rate a lot of the beers you have listed rather highly. Especially beer advocate. They seem to rate beers highly just because they are rare.
true. I can just imagine a lot of people working where I do though.."whoops this 'broke', ill buy that case for 10 bucks at the end of the night"
Does one have to live in those places or know those guys personally to know good beer? I don't think so.
Yeah, they do. No question. Until you get to that level, you'll never know.
I would just LOL...PM me when you wanna come down! Stay with me and stare at the Statue of Liberty for the night and walk towards the freedom tower towards my bar! :)
That is an idiotic statement. I have no doubt that Belgium has some great beers that are not available over here. I am personally not a fan of most belgian styles.
I will just have to say that we disagree greatly on beer.
I'll tell you what, bro. A good regular of mine is from Oklahoma City and comes to my place AT LEAST three times a week. You PM me your number and I'll have him hit you up when he's back home (he goes back at least once a month) and let him tell you first hand what I have and if it's up to YOUR standards.
Have you been to NYC beer bars?
Haha for sure man! Gonna be awhile though; I still needa come up with another 11k by the end of Sept. For what's supposed to be the happiest moment of my life

No, it's not an idiotic statement. It's a fact. Unless you know those people or have lived or been to those countries for beer, you don't know great beer. You don't. You might think you do, but you don't. What's the best beer bar you have been to? What did they serve? What was it paired with? Are you a Cicerone? Have you brewed beer before? Have you grown hops? Do you know the process of beer?
Stop barking up the wrong tree... you're in the wrong fight rugby boy.
