we got for our gf/fiancé/wife.
Some of y'all know I'm a year removed from college, so I don't have the mega bucks to spend.
My gf got a new car (I didn't pay for that, duh) but she asked me to pay to get her windows tinted. I also got her a top of the line Keurig coffee/tea machine. She opened it last night. It's pretty cool. I also got her a few little things as well.

Kitchen Aid with extra accessories.
I'm about to be a fatass.

Brand new professional wardrobe so she can start her med school clinical years in style.
A diamond pendant.
Props. I don't do jewelry. I have in the past. It's either hit or miss whether they like it or not.
It's hard to screw up with a diamond.
My ex must have just been a picky jewelry snob.
Well I proposed the 9th so she has a ring. She just graduated nursing school so I'm giving her some scrubs. That's it for her. I asked for a nice beard trimmer and pfg shirts
Tickets to Book of Mormon and some other odds and ends.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
Got the wife a new car last week but of course that doesn't count says she. 2 pocketbooks, perfume, sapphire necklace and I am done. She never asks for anything so I try to do a little extra for Christmas.
I got my wife some jewelry she wanted, perfume, purse, clothes, and other odds and ends.
For those on a budget or with new girlfriends and such I have an idea that worked perfectly for me when I was a poor college student/first year out of college. I hadn't been dating the girl for too long and we didn't have a lot of money to spend so we decided to get each other the same topical gifts. That way no one overspends and you have a limited category of what to get her.
For instance, you can get each other a book, DVD and video game (this girl was a bit of a gamer). you don't have to pick those three things, but you get the idea. If you are an alcoholic and hate to read you can replace book with bottle of liquor or something. It worked out well for us....we were broken up by Valentines Day and I hadn't dropped 300 on a girl I wasn't dating anymore.
There's a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between dreams and success.
