I say Yes.
I would hope so. Tennessee is a dumpster fire right now.
Thanks for the Chief.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
No....... The last two group of seniors didn't have a lot of talent on it. Those were Fulmer's players. This senior class is Kiffin's.... Not that great either.... If they were going to change anything, it would have been not to hire Kiffin.

It was time for Fat Phil to go. The best part.......... He didn't destroy Alabama like he hoped.
Fulmer was able to turn UTk into a beast by recruiting nationally. Pulling guys from as far as California regularly. I think UTk has to get back to that as the talent is TN is ok, but certainly not enough elite players to build around.
I think we have the elite offensive players (lacking an elite running back), but we are seriously lacking in elite defensive talent. We need a DYNAMIC d lineman.
Butch Jones. Who???
Tennessee used to plug in prototypical DE's and tackles. It was unfair.
Those were the days...
no way we should have kept coach fulmer ..it was two years to late in my opinion
Kiffin would have Tennessee successful if he was still there. He is winning at USC with the worst sanctions since SMU, I'm sure he could win in Tn.
Kiffin is a chode, don't let a few wins with a future #1 QB fool you. He'll be gone before you know it.

He was about to get Tennessee into serious trouble. Him and Pearl together at UT would have had the NCAA wanting to throw the book at them. Have you seen what's left of Kiffin's class at UT? Bryce Brown was a huge bust. Oku is gone. Janzen Jackson couldn't stop smoking weed.... The list is long...
Winning in the SEC is diff. than winning in the Pac. USC is one of the few schools that can still bring in top talent with sanctions, just because of the location. Kiffin is a tool.
agree with you totally
Sanctions have hit but the effect won't be seen for another year or two IMO.
Spurrier going to Columbia and Butch Davis going to UNC were a large part of the end for Fulmer. There's a disproportionate amount of D-linemen per capita in the Carolina's and UT used to clean up there.
I think they'd be in better shape right now if they kept him and spent big money on assistants.
Here we go. I should've known to bow down to the almighty that is SEC. We're just little ole USC I know we can't win against those 12 powerhouses.
Why is that. We're not going under 75, and we have played at 80 for a decade. I know we didn't have SEC calibre teams, but we won a little bit with 80.
I think USC can compete with the SEC no doubt. I don't think Kiffin is a good coach though. USC is going to bring in top notch talent regardless of coach, and Kiffin is a chode.
The schedule the past two years was murderous.... Kiffin won at Tennessee with 5 NFL draft picks iirc... The next two years the schedule was a lot harder. There was no offensive line or defensive line talent to begin the 2010 schedule with. Tennessee's best defensive lineman was a transfer that was a backup from USC. Kiffin would have gotten murdered just like Dooley has. You can't win in the SEC without talent in the trenches.... 2012 will be the first year in forever they will have decent enough talent and depth to compete, but it's still not up to par elite talent like the rest of the SEC.

SoCal is SoCal, nobody is denying that. But it's the equivalent of playing this years's Oregon twice and this year's Stanford 2-3 times in the same season. The mid to bottom tier teams in the PAC are like playing a weak to average OOC schedule. You may kick the mid to bottom tier teams' asses in this league on the scoreboard, but you're gonna feel it each week on the field.
I'm never one to get all caught up in conf vs conf arguments, but there's a reason a lot of teams end up complaining about SEC teams after bowl games.
have to agree
Right so SCAR played two top five teams and three more top ten teams this year. I didn't know that. I also agree that Mississippi St., Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky would be like playing a good OOC schedule, whereas playing Cal, Arizona State, UCLA, Arizona, and Washington St. would be bad.
We wouldn't stand a chance in the SEC. I contract my previous argument, Kiff would get murdered at Tennessee.
This. It's Barkley's team, not Kiffin's.
Exactly, it's like saying that Coach Caldwell was the reason that the Colts won so many games the last few years and being baffled by how he let the team perform so poorly this year. In reality everyone knows that a card board cutout could fill in as head coach and get similar results as long as Peyton is 100%.
