You're wasting your time. It doesn't matter what business people say about business, it only matters what Obama says. Besides even if this was true its Bushs fault. You have a lot to learn about liberals my friend.
3 time POTW, member since 2006, MLWTI: 4-3
Bubububu those greedy corporations!!!!!
I don't follow his explanation at all.
He says this cost will simply be passed on to the consumer. So what is preventing him from starting his business?
I heard that the only reason Subway has Italian Herb & Cheese Bread is because of Obama's affirmative action policies.
Just started my job at Home Depot corporate. New hires had the opportunity to have a round table discussion with Bernie Marcus (one of the founders). I asked him if he tried to start Home Depot today, with the current regulations coming from the government, if it could be successful. He said no way in hell.
how dare a guy risk money and all the other stuff and then becomes successful...
the libs won't believe an actual business owner but they will believe every word from Baraka
Actually it's that businesses are liars. Non-partisan thinktanks and group studies show that the regulatory changes shouldn't effect businesses enough for them to see a difference.
It must be that the owners and/or executives are pocketing the differences and crying poor.
Meaning he would have to raise his prices. A new business like that would price themselves out of the market.
I wish all liberals could learn some concept of business.
Everyone is going to have to raise their prices, so he's not necessarily being out-competed any more than he was before.
Still not liberal, by the way.
Lol. Yes non-partisan think tanks know more about business than business. And of course business people are all liars. How did I miss this response in my predictions? Obama is the truth and the light.
That sounds fantastic for the economy and the lower class. Good job Odumba!
But yes a small businness has much harder time coping with the price increase than an established one.
how long will take for someone to mention something about Dabo?
Firehouse kicks subways ass anyway.
I never said I liked any of those policies that the Subway owner listed, I just said I didn't follow his explanation (well, more to the point he didn't provide an explanation of why his business wouldn't have been able to compete).
Have their been any studies on the effects of price increases on small business vs. chain businesses?
3 minutes ago when you did.
Yep it's called the study of economics.
Thanks. This post is outrageously helpful.
By the way, a straight micro analysis would say there would be no greater impact on small businesses versus large ones is demand drops slightly due to a price increase.
Costs will go up across the board for both start up and existing businesses. That's fine and I don't have a problem with that. My problem is that when your $5 sub costs $7 or your $600 big screen costs you $1000, people will bitch about the greedy business owners or corporations when in fact it wasn't their decision. They're just passing on the costs. I own my business and I can assure you the owners and corps won't take a pay cut. The consumer will pay for it. Most businesses will survive and new ones will start but the average person will get hit hardest. like most things of this type the intended target will be no worse off than before
This is why corporate taxes are bad for the middle class. But try telling a dem that, it's like talking to a wall.
You can not be serious.
