I hear some big names being tossed around for possible replacements for when/if Chizik were to get fired. Seemed like AU didn't get pick of the litter when Chizik was hired though. Did winning the national championship help make Auburn more attractive to top tier coaches? I think its pretty obvious that you can recruit at Auburn but there are also headwinds there as well.
Easier to recruit and better facilities. Chizik made us more desperate to pay too
Yes it is a much better job now. Winning that title was huge IMO
For the most part, yes. The BCS title gives them a foot in the door in areas and with kids that wouldn't have given the a second thought before.
They will fail...
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
It all depends on whether or not the Trooper Taylor rumors are true
Probably something stupid since it came from a bammer
Trooper Cheats and kills babies.
you know the usual crap y'all cook up
Probably because there is a grip of talent compared to when he got here.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
The biggest name I have heard is Petrino. I dont know if the situation is better or not, but I cannot imagine Petrino turning Auburn down to stay in the unemployment line
Didnt he get BIG $$$ when he was fired from Arky??
If he did then he made out like a bandit. Don't know either way but just from an outside, ignorant to these situations vantage point, you'd think a violation of the morals clause would mean no cash. Maybe someone with a better understanding of contracts can tell us how it works.
I see the Auburn job as about the same as it was when Chizik was hired. The only difference from the Tuberville era is the longevity and the national title, which has a cloud over it. The last couple of years has tarnished the shine that was there just last year. If I'm an Auburn fan then I expect to be underwhelmed by the hire unless they fall into Petrino.
A lot of things you mentioned I would actually consider a plus for a new coach. You have a team full of 4 and 5 star recruits and nowhere to go but up after this year
Dumb ass. There is no cloud over anything.
Auburn will always be a great job and right now its a very attractive position for many reasons
Here are a few off the top
Alabama is a state that loves football
You are in the best conference in america
Auburn pays its coaches and its assistants top dollar so you know you will be given every chance to succeed
Lots of home grown talent in a state that borders Florida, Georgia and isn't too far from other power states so the base is strong for talented football players
Saban won't be at Bama forever and college football is all about cycles, Bama won't be the kings in the state every single year
Solid history with a recent national title and Heisman as mentioned already

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
It's still an attractive gig and I'm sure they'll hire a quality replacement for GC. But, I think it's taken a step backwards, long term, since Tubs was there.
South Carolina Gamecocks. The 2010 National College Baseball Champs.
Wow.... Never thought I would see that from you.
I hear Jimbo is on the list lol.
Way worse. They dont have the same level of talent or character
$50 bet with Rebels10 - Best of 3 Egg Bowls
**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
Talent is wayyyyyyy better.
Jimbo has his dream job, he also isn't in a hurry for relocating his family in Ethan's condition imo
You should make a run at a certain black QB coach on FSU's staff though, dude is a boss and not only a solid QB coach but a relentless recruiter who sticks it up Saban's bung hole on the regular
Word is alot of them guys are reaching out to other coaching staffs too, I wouldnt be shocked to see you guys lose a few
I think its funny that people are even mentioning Jimbo.
Bobby P is coming... all white bitches on the plains be warned.
Yeah and I meant craig as your QB coach not the HC
