I knew he was doing a crappy job but not sure if he still has the job. Reason I'm asking is that you would think the governor wouldn't have all the time he does to continue making shitty movies. Just saw the preview for "The Last Stand".

He is not. He was governor 2003-2011.
I really wasn't sure. I guess it makes it a little better since he keeps popping up in movies while California is still in more debt than any other state in the country. Unless that has changed as well.
They elected a former Governor. I wish them luck.
Jerry Brown over Meg Whitman.
I'm an AZ resident so I did not contribute to elected executive officials in Cali...
It doesn't matter who runs the show now. Our state is fuxed like a rabid dog until some one puts us out of our misery. Titanic part duex.
And Arnold makes good movies for what they are. Never going to be tear jerkers or Oscar award winners. Fights and things that blow up, it is what it is. If you're expecting anything else then you might as well walk into a strip club looking for a future wife.
Well I get that part about his acting career, although some of his early movies were pretty good IYAM, or at least better than his later stuff.
I'm just saying that it seemed odd for him to keep popping up in movies if he was still the governor.
Nope, he gone.
I am trying to figure out which ones? He couldn't even speak english until 199... hell, he still can't speak english. All of them are just fighting and things blowing up.
True Lies was great
Conan(s) - Goat
I wouldn't care if he was doing movies while in office. Like I said, we're fuxed anyway no matter who's in there.
Well all the one's you listed and I would have included Total Recall as well as the first Terminator. Everything after True Lies sucked, all of which were done before he became the governator.
The debt structure has changed as well. Arnold made some real bone-headed decisions when he was governor that cost the state a lot pf revenue. And it used to be impossible for the state to pass a budget cause it required a 2/3 vote in the legislature.
Now the budget vote is only a simple majority and with the passing of prop 30 and prop 39, Cali will be in a much better fiscal situation going forward.
The latest election has put Cali in a really interesting position going forward. Will be very interesting to watch over the next couple years.
dont know why, but this thread made me think of this
After a great impression of the classic Pacino vs. DeNiro scene from "Heat", Aries imagines that same scene with Stallone vs. Schwarzenegger instead... which leads to a HILARIOUS impression of Arnold's movie mannerisms.
From Aries Spears' 2011 stand-up special, "Hollywood, Look I'm Smiling".
Get to tha Choppa!!!-
