If not, who is and explain why that player is better.
Jefferson: 5-10, 212 pounds, runs a 4.43 40.
In his 3-year Oklahoma career: 258 tackles (181 solo tackles; 18 for loss), 7 sacks, 8 interceptions, 21 passes defended, 1 forced fumble.
How did E. Reid do this season?
John Wilkes McDonald fared just like his elder John Wilkes Mays.

Yeah, Elam is legit too. How many years was he a starter? Jefferson started all three years (so he may have the benefit of more playing time?), and I know stats aren't everything, but here's how they compare:
Jefferson: 258 tackles (181 solo; 18 for loss), 7 sacks, 8 interceptions, 21 PD, 1 forced fumble
Elam: 176 tackles (124 solo; 23.5 for loss), 5 sacks, 6 interceptions, 19 PD, 3 forced fumbles
Reid: 199 tackles (109 solo; 4.5 for loss), 0 sacks, 6 interceptions, 17 PD, 2 forced fumbles
I'd take Elam, Reid, and Vaccaro before Jefferson, just off the top of my head. It's not that Jefferson is bad, it's just that I feel the aforementioned three would provide a greater impact (literally, in Elam's case). Elam isn't just looking to tackle you when he makes his move, he's looking to end you on every play, and I love that about a safety. A true headhunter that strikes fear in opposing receivers. Reid balled out at LSU - was a stalwart in the secondary of one of the more consistent defenses in the country. Vaccaro seemed to be one of the sole playmakers in what was a generally porous defense, but then again, I didn't watch more than a few of Texas' games plus some change here and there. I've seen Jefferson play twice as an FSU student (much to my dismay), and I wouldn't mind him as a 4th or 5th round pick.

McDonald stats for comparison (over 4 years - 3 as a starter)*: 275 tackles (151 solo; 12 for loss; 152 missed tackles (jk)), 2 sacks, 8 interceptions, 17 PD, 0 forced fumbles

I like Elam. Dude's a beast.
Meh, he was abused in the Cotton Bowl, Elam is definitely better.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Eric Reid all day. Dude is a playmaker, and is equally dominant verse the run and pass.
I look forward to bumping this thread when Kenny Vaccaro is the first safety picked.
I will do it for you
