Michigan does (most Midwest schools do), but I don't know much about Stanford in that regard. Don't underestimate LSU as far as music schools go, though. There program is very, very solid. There's a reason The Golden Band from Tigerland is head and shoulders the best in the SEC.
What does "UA" stand for, again?
University of Alabama
University of Alabama in Birmingham
Two different schools
Anyone have a list of the music rankings?
This guy still doesn't get it.
But can you point me to where I can find info on the medical school on LSU's website? Here's the graduate program listing:
Don't see it. I only find anything related to this at "LSU Health New Orleans" which happens to have an entirely different website:
For undergrad yes, but for the graduate medical program they put the school in Birmingham because it probably has a bigger and better hospital. They aren't the only school to do this.
Longest list I could find was only 30 schools deep.
Comprehensive alphabetical listing of Music, Music Assistant, Music education, Music Programs, study Music, Music exams, Music certification exams, career info on Music, admissions in Music schools, Music jobs, schools, colleges and universities, Music Degrees
Same reason LSU's medical school is in New Orleans, not Baton Rouge. But he won't understand that.
You can't get much more South than Texas
#53- UT San Antonio
Or Florida(SEC State)
#18-UAB or AU(whatever the hell you wanna call it)
Arizona not in South?
North Carolina not in South?
These are all South schools, moron.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
I thought LSU was #1
Yeah I know we aren't the best in academics compared to the likes of Stanford but our Music school is the best in the SEC and probably the main reason he has us in his top 4. I''m not going to argue that our academics come close to the other schools in his top 4 but I don't consider Music (His Major) as academics..

Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
In the SEC, easily I'd say.
Well, I don't see LSU or Stanford on that list but I do see Michigan and OSU, not sure how reputable that is, though.
So if you're enrolled in Alabama you can take classes at UAB?
I can only go off of what my friends who were/are music majors have said (from themselves, their friends, professors, contacts, etc.), but it's pretty well known that the big Midwest schools usually have very, very good music programs.
And that's 2010.. It doesn't matter what these lists say.. I know for a fact our Music school is wayyy up there.. Thank you for acknowledging that though.. Bama is an underrated academic school in certain areas too.
Gotcha, but again not better than the other schools. Stanford wasn't on the list, but OSU and Michigan were and Stanford is Stanford.
Dude, UAB undergrad =/= University of Alabama School of Medicine
I don't disagree that you guys have a solid program in music. I was solely stating that LSU really isn't comparable at all academically to the other 3 schools in most categories. Let's face it, though, if he picks LSU it won't be because you guys have the best academic programs and majors.
When you're in the band in college and have a lot of music major friends, you get to get "caught up" on all this sh!t.
Not sure how trusted that list is either (it's 3 years old too)
Dang Florida State popping out those quality musicians.

Probably hasn't changed much. For every professor and of us had in our respective departments that we complained about abusing tenure, I promise you it's tenfold worse in music departments. Those teachers stay in those chairs FOREVER. The status quo rarely changes.
If you get into UofA medical school yes because that is where the hub of the medical school is.
I'm not sure if it's still like this at FSU, but y'all's marching band was particularly notable because it was for a long time 100% run by students, not anyone from the music department (other than I assume a sponsor).
