The two biggest quarterback busts in NFL history?
These two are up there.
They're up there, but in Tebow's defense everyone already knew he was gonna suck. Sanchez coming out I thought was overrated, and he hasn't proven me wrong yet.
Those two aren't close to the two in the OP. Don't get me wrong, they're busts (I guess the jury is still out until they're done), but Leaf/Russell are way ahead.
What about David Carr or any Oregon Quarterback
Joey Harrington Detroit Lions. I want to believe that the Lions ruined his career, he had potential...
Both carr and harrington couldve still been in the league today if the gms of their teams had any idea of what they were doing
Leaf statistically is the biggest bust of any position. But jamarsuck got paid 70 million to retire in 2.5 years, that's the only reason he's up there. Both were terrible but no one beats leaf for biggest bust and douchebag
At least Harrington and Carr had some respectable games and were valued enough to be picked up by other teams as backups. Not even close to Russell or leaf
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
There's a difference between complete bust and overrated. Leaf was the biggest bust hands down. I never thought Russell was going to be worth dick, so to me he was just overrated. Jimmy Clausen was another one that was highly overrated...pretty sure he also so far in the closet he's having adventures in Narnia.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Jamarcus Russell had the best pro day ever.
To some people means everything
What about the USC QB (wgo had the espn 30 for 30 on him)..the heroin addict...He was a big bust
I'll see your Clausen and raise you
Sanchez has had a hall of fame career compared to leaf and Russell
Blaine Gabbert is a waste as well
He's not a bust, he's a 5th round draft pick.
Way to high
I never thought Jamarcus Russell was that great. I laughed when he was selected #1. The only thing the guy had was a cannon for an arm, it takes more than that to play QB.
Do not remind me about that scared kid. Our new coach and new Gm look like they will give him one more chance before letting him walk.
You forgot Ponder.
lol please. hes done nothing impressive but hes at least shown he can play the position unlike alot of the qbs mentioned above. i also guarantee ponder would have been drafted where he was supposed to if the rookie wage scale was not in place. we are going to see a lot of qb overdrafts now that a #1 overall only costs 20mil. teams are much more willing to roll the dice. ponder should have been a late 2nd or a 3rd rounder
my list of terrible busts

FSU Ambassador to the masses
If you're a nole and put up Tebow, who was picked at the end of the 1st by a coach who loved him, then Ponder at 12th overall is right there with him. Also add in how Tebow was supposed to be a 2nd-3rd rounder and sit for 1-3 years before taking over. He wasn't supposed to be an instant impact guy. So I think listing him, especially by a teenage nole, was just having sour grapes.
I don't count him because, he was forced into football by his father...I can understand why the kid turned to drugs..hard ass father who forced him into the sport, denied him a childhood, and even controlled everything he ate.
The guy is now doing well as an artist...yes, ARTIST. Talk about polar opposite of what he was forced to do by his father.
