umm i didnt mention Tebow at all. everyone knows he wasnt supposed to be drafted in the first round. josh mcdaniels was doing crystal meth that day and made a bad choice. by teenage nole im assuming you meant nole of 16?
i think Ponder at 12 is a better choice than Tebow but not by a whole lot. at least Ponder projected to be an NFL qb. Tebow had basically no chance to be an NFL qb. his skillset wasnt going to translate to the NFL and everyone who follows the NFL knew that. he was yur typical great college player with no NFL future kinda like collin klein
FSU Ambassador to the masses
2nd from the bottom makes you a bust? He's 5'9 and a duel threat QB. That's not a bust, That a DA GM.
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
Those two are busts for sure, but to put them in the Russel and Leaf company is ridiculous.
They've won a combined 5 playoff games.
Troy Smtih was not 5' 9''
But he was the Michigan killer
After Ohio State Troy Smith (Heisman trophy winner) was never to be heard from again, I'd consider that a bust.
For my money, to be included in the biggest bust category you have to have been a top 10 pick. So, if i had to order them it would go like this:
1. Ryan Leaf: good God they traded a future first to get him, horrible horrible.
2. Jamarcus Russell
3. Joey Harrington
4. Heath Shuler, sigh i still have a signed picture by him.
5. Andre Ware
6. David Klingler
7. Akli Smith
8. Matt Leinart
9. Tim Couch
10. Rick Mirer
11. Blaine Gabbert
12. David Carr
13. Byron Leftwich
2 things that do not belong in the same sentence if you want to succeed in the NFL - Heisman winner/QB
Also 5th round picks can not be busts. Heisman trophy goes to the best college player, not who's projected to be the best NFL QB which in Troy's case NFL scouts new he wasn't NFL starting caliper...hence the 5th round pick.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Just give up, Logic seems to be getting nowhere, he's jealous because Troy beat the poop out of ND in Bowl game and made the team look as fat n slow as the coach.
I agree with this. Most people could see the Russell bust coming. Frankly, I wonder how many teams would have taken him in the first round let alone #1. Al Davis was too enamored with physically ability.
Oh, and if the player wasn't picked in the 1st round, can't really call them a bust, at least with QB.
