That guy must be f*****g blind to say he doesnt see any ND haters on tbb
3 time POTW, member since 2006, MLWTI: 4-3
Blind & must not own a mirror.
Jarvis Jones likes women.
One is a middle linebacker, the other is a pass rushing LB.
The fact you are comparing their 40 times, and their roles suggests you know little.
Jarvis isn't going to be asked to keep up with TE's or RB's all that often.
No doubt. & never once have I or would I bash JJ. The kid is clearly a great player. The only problem I had was that when Te'o had the not so great 40, most on tbb used JJ as an example & stated that he was so much better than Te'o. Now he runs an even crappier 40 but that's ok.
I know you did not bash Te'o. But I wish people on tbb would call it down the middle if they call it at all.
Only going off of what was said on tbb. 40 times meant so much when Manti ran a not so good one. But now not so much.

A MLB must have speed to keep up with TE's and RB's. A OLB has to rush the passer.
One has to run in space, the other doesn't.
40 time means a lot more for Te'o than Jarvis Jones. Is this that hard to comprehend?
It's like speed being more important for a CB than a S. Or DE than a DT.
Figure it out man, it's basic football. Has nothing to do with ND.
So an OLB doesn't have to be fast to cover the edge? Te'o did pretty well covering RB's & TE's
he doesn't have to be Deion Sanders fast to be a good ILB in the NFL.
Burfict, Spikes, Lauranitis, Maualuga say hello.
He pulled up a few yards short - per our homeboard MOD who was there.
Yesterday, it was in the 30's in Athens.
But regardless, if I was an NFL GM, Jarvis could have dropped a deuce and taken a nap right there during the 40 and I would still draft him over Manti.

ND fans....do the board a favor and stop apologizing for T'eo. Regardless of what Jarvis Jones did at his pro-day, T'eo is still a douchebag who tried to scam the entire country in hopes of winning the Heisman. There is no excuse for T'eo, and any team that drafts him will be taking a huge risk. He was exposed tremendously in the BCSCG.
Te'o's performance in the NCG was more damaging to his pro potential than the Combine IMO.
And Jesse Palmer creams himself over the "SEC speed".
He ran twice and said he was not injured on the first run but that he missed a step.
Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
I'm not saying Te'o can't be successful, I'm just saying there is a logical reason that ones 40 time is criticized and the others isn't.
I disagree with that too, I think a 3-4 OLB needs more speed, though neither need 40 yard straight line speed. He will have to cover in the league, I don't know any system that wouldn't have him drop into coverage at some point.
One game? Where not just him, but his entire team were over matched & outplayed.
I think NFL GM's look at a whole body of work as opposed to one game.
