I'm just going to leave this here and you can choose to do with it what you will. Under Saban at Bama:
Kevin Steele- DC at Bama; great recruiter who left for Clemson to be their DC. He was fired after 3 years and giving up 70 points in a bowl game.
James Willis- Promising LB coach; great recruiter who left for Texas Tech to be their DC. He was fired after one year.
Lance Thompson- Great recruiter; "left" Bama to be a position coach at UT. Was fired after one year.
Sal Sunseri- Great position coach; great recruiter who left for UT to be their DC. He was fired after one year.
Jeremy Pruitt- Great recruiter; who left for FSU's to be their DC.........TBD

"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
one can hope right?
im hoping our pisspoor ACC slate will give him time to get his feet under him as a playcaller. this is definately a big risk but it could payoff and it it doesnt its Jimbo's ass. risktakers are moneymakers so they say
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Rumor has it that Pruitt was in line to be the DC if and when Kirby Smart left. That tells me that Saban thinks he is capable(although Saban is going to have someone who is running his defense). I am happy for Pruitt and wish him well. I hope this means that Smart has already made the decision to stay at Bama...Pruitt would have stayed at Bama if he knew he was going to be promoted to DC after this season.
Sunseri is key in all this. He and Pruitt would kind of form a single bad ass coach between them. They'd be on the same page and Sunseri just went through his first stab at major college DC work and so he'd be able to help Pruitt avoid a few pit falls maybe.
Main thing is that Pruitt could putt him in charge of all three LB positions and not have to worry one bit about it.
I think it is a BALSY hire by Jimbo. It could make or break him. Truthfully I like the moves this will be a homerun if Jimbo gets it right. If he doesnt I guess we will clean house and start over. It may need to happen either way if Jimbo doesnt give up the play calling.
The only people talking about getting those guys on our board was posters not mods. I do not know where those posters sources were from though. They probably got it from one of our other sites like warchant, and bought it over here. Also Kirby was just a name on the hotboard being thown around like Stoops who we hired a few years ago.
You would have a good combo if you get both Pruitt and Sunseri. I mean that is a legitimate homerun hire no matter who tries to poo-poo on it.
Pruitt can flat out recruit, and I don't think he's as bad a coach as some on here have said. He may not be ready for a DC position (actually Sunseri would be better) but he's still a good pickup. You add Sunseri, who is a better coach than recruiter and you have a hell of a pick up. I guess you had to bump up the offer to DC to Pruitt to leave Bama and Sunseri just got canned so he took a good position coach at a good school.
Kind of shocked that we didn't pick up Sunseri again honestly.

Reports leaking now that Sunseri is in the fold. Not sure on LBs or DEs yet but we assume he'll get LBs because quite simply that's more positions on the field for him to influence.
Classic case of having to use titles to get the hotter name. Simply put FSU couldn't have gotten Pruitt with anything other than the DC title. I would assume Jimbo has told Pruitt that he and Sunseri should "work together" on game planning and play calling.
Rich Bissacia is now trending for our RBs and STs coordinator position. Unequivocally a better staff then what we had if we get Sunseri and Bissacia. Final hire, presumably at DE, would just need to be solid.
So is FSU switching to 3-4 ??
Well Sunseri has to be in the fold if FSU is interested in him. Dude doesn't have a fvcking job at this point. I'm shocked Bama hasn't scooped him up yet seeing as though his son gets all the playing time that he does. It's not like he left on a bad note. He went from a position coach to a DC position and Saban was happy for him.
So Bama's pass defense sucked this year after having been exposed by aTm, Georgia and LSU so he "moves on" to greener pastures under his own accord?
Probably a two year plan. Even the folks who run a 3-4 straight up admit it looks like a 4-3 much of the time. Jimbo won't be wanting to tweek too many things in one offseason.
Wasn't Alabama 6th in pass defense this year? Didn't Alabama replace 3 All-Americans from last year in the secondary?
Exactly. Bama had it's worst pass rush since 2007 and had to replace a crew of NFLers in the secondary. Plus, Pruitt was 37 years old during this campaign. He will be better next year and the year after.
Am I elated to get a coach at still such a learning stage? Not incredibly. But this guy won't be a one man staff trying to maintain the work of a true mastermind. Stoops is pretty overrated coming off the last 2 years.
Sal Sunseri to FSU is now quasi-official.
D-14 hates everything that has Bama's name attached to it. He's like Scoot but actually 100% serious.
I think that you are rolling the dice a little bit, Saban is in all honesty our DB coach, but lord knows he can recruit and learned from the best.
You get him along with Sunseri and you've done a hell of a job.
It's wikipedia official now.
Our most impressive hire may still be to come. Rich Bissacia at RBs/Sts.
LOL I dunno why FSU fans are getting excited about hiring a DC.
Defense isn't FSU's problem it's playcalling from Jimbo so FSU should hire a OC to replace Jimbo.
We are excited because obviously it's a big hire. Defense is important you know. While it may not have been our problem the past few years, it was 4 years ago and we'd obviously like to maintain having a great defense.
Don't know why it's hard to understand a fan base being excited over a major hire.
You should really consider the source, dude. Same guy who reported Gruden and Strong to UT as "done deals" to UT because his boss said so or some crap.
Do what the FSU board does, and ignore everything he says.
