Not in college. In the pros its obvious
University of Alabama: The high mark of college football since 1892
Debatable. Harbaugh is a bad ass though. Hell, both harbaughs are bad ass....must be genetic.

Hard to say who is better. Both are great coaches. Harbaugh wasn't competing on a level playing field with Saban in college so impossible to compare. I would say Harbaugh for his age has probably done more sooner, but who knows what he would have accomplished had he stayed at the college level. His college HC years would have to be compared to Saban while at MSU.

Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
Their dad was a great at WKU.
Harbaugh is a great coach.
What part do you not understand?
If Nick Saban retired tomorrow then Jim Harbaugh would be #1 on my wish list.
The MSU part, mainly.
How many rings does Jim have?
MSU was Saban's 2nd HC job in college and was his 2nd thru 6th year as a HC. Stanford was Harbaugh's second HC job and was his 4th thru 7th year as a college HC. MSU was/is a second tier team in their conference, Stanford was a 2nd tier team in their conference at best.
He means Stanford was early in Harbaugh's coaching career at a non destination job. So it isn't fair to compare his Standford time to Saban's time at LSU and Alabama where he was running a place actually equipped to win a title. A better comparison would have been at Michigan State where he was running a program that was looking up at several other programs in it's conference.
I don't think Harbaugh ever comes back to the college game, but I hope Alabama at least offers him when Saban decides to step away form the game. I think he's as good as there is in the game. I don't think he could recruit as well as Saban has, but I think he could be a better x-o's coach than Saban.
Harbaugh is a better coach.
Saban is a better recruiter in an area that has more talent.
As a lot of people on here say, LSU wins with talent regardless of Les Miles. That same thing can be said for Bama. Saban can walk away today and Bama would be in the hunt for several more years regardless of who coaches there. Harbaugh just flat out coached very intelligent football players to victory.
Damn Strong Football Team
I'm not sure u can get any better then saban, when it comes to the college game.. but JH stock is skyrocketing no doubt! I'm a fan of both..I would love to see what JH, could do at a program like Michigan
As long as he keeps his NFL success up, Michigan will not be putting up statues of him in the future.
Hairballs. Bama would be even better with him.
completely irrelevant at this point
harbaugh is in the pros now and saban is in college. saban has had alot more success in the college ranks but harbaugh shits all over him in the pros.
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Who could've guessed.
lol @ the Bama homers..Harbaugh is the best coach in football right now.
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
lulz at Dawg homers. Saban >>>>Richt and not even close.
dont get your point. MNCs is irrellevant since they arent playing in the same level of football. i could argue Harbaugh is better if San Fran wins a superbowl since saban doesnt have even 1. and dont compare Bama and Stanford. they arent on the same level of competition. you can compare Bama and UF or other schools that are serious about football. harbaugh brought stanford out of irrelevance in football. its a hell of a lot harder to win at stanford than Bama
How many championships does Jim have?
