Wait - you are saying that Brian Kelly could have predicted that wind would have killed Declan Sullivan?
You do realize that every coach from Indiana to Pennsylvania (college and HS) decided to have practice outdoors that unfortunate day. Joe Paterno decided to practice outdoors that day. Your small mind retaliates to the notion that a man you held so high in regards to the simple admiration of being "honest" and "respectable" came crashing down that you would compare the cover-up of children being sexually abused and mentally tortured to an unfortunate accident due to wind gusts? Your comment is unparallel to what any one would consider to be an intellectual comparison of reason and simple compassion.
It is actually insulting to human decency that you would consider taking this position as a respectable citizen of society.
I don't understand how you can support someone so much that you don't know personally?? I know for a fact i wouldn't support a Michigan coach who did something like that.
"That’s why Ohio State’s Jim Tressel moved the Buckeyes’ practice inside on Tuesday when wind gusts made conditions unsafe.
“I don’t know if we’ll be inside or out,” Tressel told Ohio reporters 24 hours before the Notre Dame tragedy. “It looks a little nasty. I worry about our cameramen, their well-being up there 50 feet in the air.”
Right. Keep thinking that. Every coach had practice with huge scissor lifts that day. Almost everyone outside of ND thinks BK royally dropped the ball there, and unfortunately a kid died.

Where does it say anything about me supporting anyone??? What I'm saying is that everyone who cannot understand why PSU fans want to see all of the facts laid out in front of them before passing a final judgement are being extremely hypocritical. You are not the ones painfully watching your university dragged through the mud...rightfully so not. I do not believe that it is too much to ask for other true sports fans and college graduates to have some compassion for a fanbase that is extremely shaken and conflicted at the moment.
BK dropped the ball by practicing in dangerous conditions not knowing anyone was in harms way. It would be the same thing as deciding to go out in the rain and get struck by lightening - unpredictable. Kelly is responsible and ND will pay for Sullivan's unfortunate death. ND owned responsibility and put measures in place "immediately" to prevent anyone else getting hurt.
JoePA knew kids were getting raped and would continue to get raped and he only cared about his selfish image.
Your comparison and futile deflection makes you look like you support Joe's decision. Hey, look - I get that you cannot comprehend the situation at hand because you, yourself are seemingly willing to save face to say "well your fav school did this or that." In reality - your credibility as a poster in my mind is as twisted and mentally inept as the ole coach you are willing to defend to the death.
I still think he should be our coach. I stood by him the entire time, I will believe he was a great man who made a mistake till the day I die.
I can see being conflicted if a family member is caught up in horrible situation like this. But being conflicted about the coach of your favorite team, a complete stranger who has no idea who you are?
Some fans are just way too emotionally attached to the complete strangers they root for.
Actually it is my university since i graduated from there. I didn't read all your posts, sorry. I just talked to a few PSU fans/alum who are still supporting Joepa, and I don't understand it.
So you would agree the post that said "everywhere isn't like that. Most Ohio State fans turned on Tressel quickly" is probably not true. Many OSU fans are on your side. Hell, I think he made a mistake, but got way too much heat for it too. Not at all comparing what Joe to Tress, but the point of my post was that fan reactions when it's their own school are usually much different from outsiders. And then Coastal Eer tried to tell me that, no, only at PSU would the reaction be like this and everywhere else the fans are much different. Seems unlikely to me.
I can assure you that you're right. As I have said in every single one of these threads, I feel bad for PSU fans and alums. While what happened at OSU wasn't as of importance as PSU, the whole scandal has been same in many ways. I feel your pain, it feels like you got kicked in the junk right. You want to believe so bad that someone you respect so much didn't make the decisions that they did. It sucks, just a terrible situation.
