As our WR coach. Slam dunk hire
Florida announced Monday it has hired former Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips to coach receivers, a slam-dunk hire for the Gators.
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
We're not hiring him as a HC, jit. The man has HC and OC experience and we hired him as a position coach. Everyone knows he was calling the plays when Kentucky almost beat us in 2007. And he recruits his ass off in Georgia and the Carolinas.
Just be glad we didn't want Fisher as a coordinator.....
Good hire Champ...
Correct. You're getting a HELL of a WR coach, bro, for real.
Keep Calm & Stoops On..
Dude should be a baller on the recruiting trail.
I never liked Joker for off the field reasons but, I can tell you, he handled himself with class and dignity toward the end. Think about it. Him getting run from UK is the equal(only more so really) of us promoting Bobo to HC and firing him 3 years in. He was all about UK. He is a fine WR coach, just not HC material
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
thats a good hire
Weak meant damn, that is weak.... as in good hire and weak for me
serious question, I've heard Pease would be a name for Boise's HC job if Peterson left (Dont think it will happen) Would you all promote Joker to OC or hire someone seperately?
completely hypothetical obviously
Question has been tossed around the board today. I'd be cool with it. I doubt he knows Pease's system, though. He came to UK the year Pease left. Think Muschamp wants continuity in the offense no matter what.
Hopefully this question stays hypothetical.
Agreed. Just once I would like to get through an offseason without our coaching staff going through changes.
Your WR's just improved considerably.
Prepare your anal region
that's a good hire
Since we gave away the game this year I feel confident we can start a nice little streak against you next year.
BTW. Nice sig.
Cant turn coal into diamond though. Florida is some WR talent away from being a Force again.
honestly he was not that good of a WR coach at South Carolina. Solid recruiter but never raided SC while at KY, he might have more to sell at Florida. My guess he will looking to be an OC somewhere sooner than later
