Curious what you would pay him this offseason. Some are saying 200 million but that's crazy. He will be 32 next year and with his past I would offer 4 yrs and $100 miilion. Give him a little more per year and limit the risk in years. That would take him to 35 years old. I would think about 5 but wouldn't be comfortable.

7 yr 150 mil
As a Ranger fan, trade him this summer. Bought low, sold high and enough farm talent to get by. Texeria trade still paying huge dividends.
That's just silly. Why would the best team in baseball trade the best player in baseball for prosoects. Good thing your not the GM bc I would think most fans want a WS.

The difference between now and when Tex got traded is that the Rangers are good now. They can't win this year by trading Hamilton for prospects.
Because it's just as likely that he goes on some sort a bender or gets injured as it is he actually plays 150+ games a year.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
Whoever gives Hamilton big money is an idiot. If Rangers fall off the pace they should get rid of him for something. Hard to trust someone that has had as many injuries that he has been through.
They got to be the best team by savvy deals just like the one I'm speaking of. I never said prospects, either.
A blockbuster deal ain't out with JH. The Rangers need 1B/OF/DH Power hitter and have Leoyns Martin to play CF.
I'm just BSing on a message board, not trying to run the rangers.
Needs to be resigned. The prospect cupboard is full. We have some say the best farm system on baseball. JD will make it worthwhile for both JH and the team.
I'm not against resigning him. But any more than a 5 year deal for 16-18m is no go. Fielder and Pujols are great but each are wildly overpaid on production and they arent drug addled frail bodies.
5 years, 120 mil
Overpay and keep the contract as short as possible. 4 year 100 million would be ideal IMO. I don't think any team will sign him to a 7 year deal.
True but y'all weren't contending then. This would be blowing it up mid season. It's hard to trade amongst contenders to bc they wouldn't want to give up MLB talent and make another hole. I thought Prince would have been a great fit and let someone else give Hamilton the years.
