Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart will interview with committee looking for Auburns head coac.
Best of Luck. He's gone sometime or another. But I doubt its for this gig..
I Ain't got no Worries - Lebron James
I don't see him wanting to take the AU job and have to deal with Saban as his archrival, but I wouldn't blame him for taking it. Can't get mad at a coordinator wanting to upgrade to HC. It's going to happen eventually.
Would be epic if he goes there, does well, then we hire him when Saban retires.
Dye went there from Alabama after learning from Bryant. Seemed *U would want to get another one that actually knew something about football from another great Alabama coach.
That would be perfect in every way.
*IF* he was offered the job, he'd have to sign a contract that would pretty much make that an impossibility (like Petrino's at Arkansas).
TURDS ALL UP IN THIS MUG. /// "2010 Auburn Tigers, my favorite team. Unbeaten in all ways." -- Dan Wetzel, April 4, 2013, 6:29 p.m.
**doubtful** Auburn has the bargaining power to add that to a contract for a high profile candidate. Might be ok for the Chiziks of the world but not Kirby.
Then he *won't* get an offer. It's that simple.
I guess Petrino isn't going to happen?
He's interviewing too.
*contracts* are not worth the paper they are written on.
*money* over rides any contract.
Then he should have *NO* problem signing one with that clause.
This guy called it
Auburn fans using asterisks? Ironic..
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Is that supposed to be a shot at the validity of AU's 2010 national title?
Be careful, or I'll whip a few up out of thin air, bama-style, to make up for it.
might as well whip up a bowl game for you guys while your at it
I guess Shane thinks Yeldon will flip to Bama after he enrolls at Auburn. Brilliant. Sell those subscriptions, BOL.” - TIGER
Well, I guess it is a good thing Kirby Smart is not a high profile candidate. He will basically take the contract Auburn gives him or we will move on to someone else.
If he doesnt accept the job, who cares? He is far from the first choice of most Auburn fans anyway

I don't think bama creates bowl games out of thin air, just championships, so I'll refrain. I won't be the originator of such a practice, but I'll partake.
good to see you back...where's the pastor? missed him since august.
Yeah cause Auburn is awesome!!
Dye was an assistant at Alabama for 1965-73 and then a HC at ECU & Wyoming for the next 7 years. Too young to remember the search, but I don't think Dye was exactly a hot commodity when he took the Auburn job.
However, Dye knew the lay of the land in the SEC and knew Alabama was vulnerable, because Coach Bryant was in poor health and on his way out. I don't think Dye takes the job or is successful if Coach Bryant is in his prime.
If Coach Smart takes the job I think he'll be successful, but probably not on the level Auburn fans would expect.
You can take 11 of our national championships away and we would still have more than auburn.
After this year we'll have 10 no one can dispute because everyone claims them. AP,UPI and BCS. There's really no reason to count anymore.

Then he wouldn't take it. He has turned down an SEC job the last two years to wait for the right situation. He will be our next head coach after Saban leaves unless he goes to a UF, LSU. or UGA
"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
Why? Do you not want to take your shoes off to count higher than 10?
