I've read the book, got it for my bday last year. And once again, I'll say this for about the 4th time in this thread, I've never once argued that MJ isn't the best to ever play the game. Do I need to say it one more time for you? Or do you want to keep telling me how awesome Jordan is?

2002-03 Season, Kobe averaged 30 points, 7 assists, and 6 boards/game. Shaq 27 points, 11 boards, and 3 assists.
2003-04 Season, Kobe averaged 24 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists/game. Shaq 21 points, 11 boards, and 3 assists again.
A person with a rational thought could absolutely argue that towards the end of their run together, Kobe was overtaking Shaq as the best player. However, I do enjoy you stating things like that without actually looking up any facts
Bingo! During the Kobe/Shaq 3 peat, Kobe led the Lakers past the much TOUGHER Western Conference playoff teams (Duncan/Robinson Spurs......including a 48 point 15 rebound close out game), while Shaq "Feasted" on the much weaker Eastern Conference Champs (Nets/76ers/Pacers), thus winning all of the Final MVPs.

And yet where were the Finals MVP's?
In Shaq's trophy case IMO.
Lol is that your opinion?
Kobe doesn't get any credit because he doesn't have the heart of a champion. Something about the fires burning hottest or the hardest steel or something. From what I understand, you have to want to win so badly that you quit basketball altogether to play baseball for two seasons. Wait, one and half.

at no point in Kobes career is he better than MJ
Point out the obvious fallacy of the whole Kobe=MJ narrative trotted out ITT, and you're a shameless sycophant.
Keep cobbling together insignificant points in a totally incoherent manner to support a position you claim not to be advancing, and you're just a rational objective observer, mirite?
Want to know how I know you're rocking that extra chromosome?
There you go, bust out the personal insults during a sports debate.
The pro-Jordan supporters in this thread are ridiculous and over the top. All the Kobe guys are saying is that he is having a better year than Jordan did at the same age; a position which is perfectly debatable.
Of course, no one can debate about Jordan because he is the GOAT and he has the passion which was fueled in the fires of arduous finals against Portland, Seattle, and others. Jordan supporters are over the top and you know it.
That's whats so funny about the supporters of Jordan that are absolutely obsessed with him. Nobody has said anything about Kobe going down as the best player ever. Nobody has said that. Someone simply pointed out that he might be having a better year at the age of 34, and according to all Jordan supporters on here, that's impossible, because nobody can ever be compared to Jordan, ever. Because we all know Jordan was perfect at every aspect of the game until he retired. A good buddy of mine is a HUUUUGE Bulls fan, always has been. And strangely enough, he loves Kobe too. His reasoning behind it, is that he thinks Kobe is the closest thing we'll ever see to Jordan and he says he just enjoys watching "greatness."
I think its ridiculous.
I honestly think even if a Kobe or LBJ or anyone else were to win like 8 titles, there were be a large number of people who say Jordan is the GREATEST EVAR because he had the "will to win" or some other pretense.
Straw man much?
Read this very very carefully:
1.) Kobe is a great great player...Top 10 all time.
2.) Kobe is not and will never be GOAT.
3.) It is moronic to cherry pick and start a thread with a singular insignificant stat that favors Kobe in comparison to MJ, and then profess shock that such a tightly edited and limited comparison generates broader comparisons between the two.
4.) Kobe doesn't fare quite so well in those broader and more exhaustive comparisons.
Edit: And I enjoy watching Kobe play as well...just like I enjoy watching any great player doing their thing (except against the Heat, of course)

It generates broader comparisons because the Jordan lovers instantly bring up the fact that Kobe will never be MJ. Then they try to make it sound like there's absolutely no reason to ever compare Kobe to MJ. And for any basketball fan/expert/anyone, that's just insane to say. There's a reason Kobe gets compared to MJ quite often, and it's not because dumb internet posters bring it up. It's because experts talk about it. The obsessed Jordan supporters are the first ones to make the "broader comparisons" even though nobody has tried to compare their entire careers in this thread because MJ is the best to ever play(that's the 5th time I've said it now). But thanks for breaking it down for me, I really needed that. Now I'll wait for your next response which will probably include "MJ is the GOAT" even though nobody has disagreed with that in this thread yet.

Seems like you "think" a lot of things...but that doesn't make them true.
Kobe simply isn't going to surpass MJ no matter how much you would like him to...it's not going to happen.
With LBJ, he still has enough time to theoretically equal or surpass MJ, and who knows he may--hell, as a Heat fan I'd love to see him bring five more 'ships down here.
But with just 1 under his belt, that kind of talk is ridiculously premature.
I'm out of this thread. I don't even like Kobe lol.
Much more focused on Fantasy basketball and getting ring number two in June.
I see you deleted the part of my post where I readily acknowledged Kobe's greatness as well as his stature as a top 10 all time player.
But that wasn't good enough for you. You keep denying it, but you want more than that.
I also deleted the part when you said Kobe is not, and never will be the GOAT, which nobody has claimed that he is, or ever would be, so it was an unnecessary statement to make because it has nothing to do with anything anyone has said in this thread. And I also deleted the part about Kobe failing in the "broader comparisons" because well, like I mentioned before, only the Jordan lovers bring up those broader comparisons, because Kobe fans already know he's not as good as MJ. But you guys just keep emphasizing a well known fact, and it gets a bit redundant.
How is comparing who did what at 34 apropos of anything of any significance?
Ask the OP, don't ask me brah I didn't start the thread. How is telling the Kobe fans over and over and over and over again that Jordan is the greatest ever to play apropos of anything of any significance to the topic of this thread?
Well if you have no point, why all the straw men?
Well to be totally honest I find it hilarious that a group of people (Jordan Lovers) get so worked up over nothing. Get their panties in a bunch over a simple comparison. The majority of Jordan lover posts in this thread have had NOTHING to do with their season while being 34 years old, the Jordan lovers make it about the entire career, which nobody has been arguing about. However, in damn near every single post, the Jordan lovers will make sure everyone is aware of Jordan being the GOAT. Which like I'll say again, NOBODY has denied in this thread. You're a prime example of someone that has brought it up numerous times, for absolutely no reason, with nobody arguing against it. I just think it's funny. It's almost like the Jordan lovers are insecure about it, so they feel the need to bring it up and defend it when nobody has even questioned it.
Guess you missed my post where I said MJ was arguably GOAT, but certainly top 2.
But the real entertainment is watching the whole passive aggressive thing with Kobe fans
Yeah I missed that post when you said that, because every single other one of your posts was a cyber BJ for MJ. And you still managed to continue posting facts that had nothing to do with their season while they were 34 years old. I think this thread has ran it's course.
And no offense, but if you don't think Jordan was the GOAT, every single post of yours needs to be seriously questioned in this thread.
