How'd Kasey Gaines look?
Grayson's front 7 dominated the game, so he didn't get a lot of chances/play development to him. A lot of quick game stuff to get the ball out before Grayson met at the QB.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
Nkemdiche seemed to be more of a disruptive game changer last year when he was probably in the 255-260 range as he was so fast and powerful off the edge. His body still looks streamlined at 285 but his bodyfat is definitely somewhat higher and IMO he was a better, more impactful player at the lighter weight. He was getting the double teams last year but he was still physical and fast enough to beat them on many occasions.
He had 18 sacks as a sophomore and 18 sacks last year as a junior. I don't know his total in 2012 but I know he's at best 3rd on the Grayson team in sacks. I'd be surprised if he has 5 sacks this season and teams are essentially playing him the same as they did in 2011.
Robert Nkemdiche, Reuben Foster (simply not as agile or explosive now) and Tyren Jones ( just doesnt seem to have the "Whodini make you miss" shifitness that he had in 2011 as I've seen him tackled in 1 on 1 situations in 2012 where the guy wouldnt have touched him in 2011) all seemed to be better players in 2011 IMO...... For various reasons/intentions (ie. some intentionally gained the weight while at least 1 did so due to sloth/indolence) they each gained weight but I think all 3 would have been better served to "gradually" gain the weight as again I think all 3 were better football players at their lighter weight in 2011.
I know these guys want to get to their college weight but it needs to be done with more precision/calculation IMO.
Bigger isn't always better.
I'm 100% in the camp of gradual, and with the help of a college nutritional/S&C program over time.
+1 for the Peyton Barber as underrated prospect

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
