maybe he had to go
He's like a petulant child. And it would be one thing if he actually had a track record of success to fall back on, but other than his OC days under Pete (which, like, look at the offensive talent and defense those teams had), what has he done? He better start beating the Oregons and Stanfords soon. And God forbid if he starts losing to UCLA and UW. If that happens, dealing with the press will be the least of his problems.

Loved seeing those flared nostrils of his.....it's got me all hot and bothered, lol.
This guy is such a little child. Love seeing him fail.
Urbs has Kiffin beat by a landslide in the professional department IYAM.
The Orlando Sentinel has video of Urban Meyer's rant yesterday at Orlando Sentinel reporter Jeremey Fowler. For the record, Florida's football coach never accuses Fowler of misquoting what Gator receiver Deonte Thompson said about Tim Tebow, which started the confrontation.
What sanctions? Our 75 are better than your 85.
Well, since none of you where there or could hear the question, none of you have any idea what you're talking about.
I was there and I heard the question. The question itself broke news about an injury status. That isn't allowed. If he had continued with the interview, there is a 100% chance that someone, somewhere, would have reported what SC didn't want reported. So, he ended it. It makes perfect sense to me. I'm just thankful that I have access to practice, because they could close it if they wanted to. It seems pretty nice that he would keep the practice open even though he would prefer that it was closed.
I don't know Lane well enough to know if he's a good or bad person, has been nothing but helpful and kind to me.
At the Pac 12 media day, he gave me one on one time that wasn't expected to explain the answer to question that he couldn't discuss in front of others. He could have told me to buzz off, he could have said no comment, but I wanted an answer and he was kind enough to help me out. This was, of course, after the time that's allotted for him to speak to the media. He had no obligation to me and he still took a good chunk of time to talk with me face to face. That's pretty nice. So, maybe he isn't a total jerk and maybe he doesn't hate the media (all though I wouldn't blame him because it wouldn't be news if anyone else skipped out on a practice interview). Maybe he has rules because he wants the best competitive advantage possible.
i still think he just had to go to the bathroom. that look on his face, he was definitely squeezing something in.
And maybe he's got a track record anyone but a blind homer can see. Its obvious that the guy has a serious attitude problem and he knows this was his year to win big before the wheels fall off. He will be testy and say stupid **** the rest of the season.
You should be his publicist. You make him look better than his current one or himself seems to be able to do.
I think it was his 6th sense that his wife was getting banged by another recruit.....
My God man, quit suckin up. Tennessee learned - you will too.
You act like he is the only coach in America who has to deal with the media. And injuries. Being the HC at a program like USC is a big boy job and he is getting very big boy money to do it. Other coaches deal with the media every day without throwing tantrums like a teenage girl. That should be a basic requirement of any D-1 HC. If he can't do that, he should go back to being a coordinator and leave the top job to someone mature enough not to make a fool of himself every time he opens his mouth.
. Nice work!
THIS ^^^^^^^^^ yup, right on
First of all, I obviously don't think he's the only coach that has to deal with this stuff. I'm looking at it from his perspective. He's a coach and the question gave Cal an advantage that they didn't have before. He has a policy that was violated, so he left. That's not throwing a tantrum or acting like a teenage girl. That's acting like someone who's disappointed when he's nice enough to let us be there and people don't respect him enough to care about his rules.
He could just close practice. That's not every media savvy, but at least he won't get crapped on by everyone for having rules anymore.
Chris Swanson says Lane Kiffin is a nice guy?
Well, I'm sold.
A question from a reporter gave Cal an advantage on the football field?
That's actually hilarious.
He might be a dick, I don't really know. I just wouldn't bash someone when I can't even hear the context of what he got mad at.
And since I did actually hear the question, I can say that I understand why he left.
And I love how not hating someone has turned unreasonable.
Bump. Just in case the OP missed it the first time.
Knowing if player A is playing or not is an advantage over not knowing. SC is in complete control of what leaves that field and they're exercising that. I don't get why it's a problem.
It's not unreasonable to not hate someone.
It is unreasonable to not hate Lane Kiffin.
you always crack me up dude
It was a slow day at work.
same here, I didn't have to write my Lane Kiffin media scrum article
