What ya hearin', Noles?
Butch Jones. Who???
If it's true he's announcing tonight than you got to think he's Tennessee's.
He is a very talented kid. May very well choose Tennessee. His dad is certifiably insane.
I don't like his Dad TBH.
With our ability to still get Yannick, pull in Thomas, and get Duab for next year I am not holding my breath.
Yannick is going to Maryland. As long as we get Thomas I'd honestly be indifferent on EJL
LOL. Our mods said he loved Tennessee. Didn't mention he was loopy. Seems to be trending our way, but I would be surprised if he went anywhere, but FSU.
Edit: surprised if he went anywhere but FSU

At the moment, I don't believe he flips from FSU.
There have been so many rumors going around that he and his family feel another decision is necessary... I guess.
It does seem strange to make an announcement if he's just staying with FSU, but we'll see what happens.

If a Vol fan shows his face on tBB, you know they are confident. EJ has been across the spectrum on his commitment. Nothing would surprise me. If he goes there, you have to appease dad more than EJ...which is sad.
His dad is crazy.
Rumor has it a Michigan insider at ESPN (Michigan's best insider IMO) texted EJ's dad seeing if they could get an interview, and EJ's dad said something like "why would you want interview EJ, he's not even in your top 300".
So yeh, he crazy.
Thanks, Tom. This is similar to what our mods have been saying.
not so sure I want to deal with all that. We've had enough in the drama department to last me a few years.
His dad will not even give interviews to 247 since they have his son ranked low. The only site I have seen get interviews really is rivals since they have him very high.
Nooooow I remember all that mess. We were in on him earlier, but having Sal on staff completely blew that up. Then I remember a ton of posters saying he was slow and way overrated. Seems like those posters have died down so I don't know if he evened out to a good ranking or if people just got over talking about it.
Yup I feel bad for whoever takes him really.. His dad will probably be calling the Head Coach everyday wondering why his son is not getting more reps in practice.. Glad he left the state.
Then we went and hired Sal and his dad didn't like that hire so they kind of started to look around again.
Dad was an elite high school athlete that tore his knee up I believe and faded into the real world. He's pretty much Uncle Rico that has a son who's living his dream.
It's coming together for me now haha
fsufsu: nice reference. Now I definitely don't want that. Nobody got time for that.
After seeing how his dad has behaved over the last 6 months, I'm glad we missed out on him. He'll be a talented player, but his dad is a handful.
Hokies were right in the mix for Levenberry until about the 8th grade.
you da man smitty
I have never been an EJ fan, Ill never forget FSU fans trying to tell me he was a top 25 player for this class when he was a junior
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Seriously, by his Soph year I think it was crystal clear we weren't in the race.
8th grade might be spot on though.
He's a good player, but nothing special. I'd love to keep him, but we signed 2 good LBs last year and we should sign a special LB along with another good LB this year, so not too worried.
You aren't missing much, I know he was ranked as the #1 player in virginia and hyped for a good while so I know Hokies know about him, and Im sure some felt let down to be out of it so early
But in this case, you didn't miss on much
EJ is a good solid football player with good size, but nothing about him wows me
I don't see him playing much at a FSU if that is where he picks, especially if Matt Thomas shows up on campus
The guys in front of him and also in this class are equally as talented if not more so
Picking Tennessee would be the best decision for him imo

Agree with this. Hes a good player, and far more valuable to Tennessee than to FSU. However, playing at FSU will make him look better because of our man eaters up front (and playing against Wake and Maryland wont hurt).
Personally, I dont care. Stevenson is a better prospect and Hoskins has more upside...and neither have a crybaby, meddlesome father
+1 on all of it, I think EJ could be an NFL guy in 4-5 years but he just isn't needed at FSU and if Matt Thomas is in the class its almost ridiculous that he would join up and somebody that likely transfers after 2 years
Could you imagine his dad if he doesn't see the field much in 2 years ? ugh, no thanks
We definitely need quality inside linebackers
