Was the greatest thing to happen to A&M, Texas's greed has brought down UT, while A&M is on its way to cast the biggest shadow in Texas.
I'm just happy LHN is failing because it's screwing ESPN over.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
I don't think it has brought down that school... It has hurt ESPN but not that school. They still getting the check from ESPN for it.
I think he's meaning that it's the only reason A&M left for the SEC. Now UT is going to lose out on a lot more in state recruits than it would have had A&M not made the jump. Some kids just want to play in the SEC.
Texas is going to make a bunch of money no doubt, but A&M is still going to benefit when it comes to straight football and Texas will lose on that front. At least more than they would have had A&M stuck where they were.
Could you imagine Texas in the PAC-16? That would have happened if not for the LHN.
That extra money to the school isn't really that much. Hardly worth the trouble it cost.
Would you care about that extra money if you couldn't watch two of your games like last year?
The decision to go to the SEC was a business decision more than anything. In addition, with super conferences just around the corner we wanted to be proactive in deciding where we ended up.
Not sure if you are familiar with Texas politics but they are what kept A&M, Texas, Tech, and Baylor together when the SWC fell apart and we all joined the Big 12. Our higher ups were concerned that when the Big 12-2-2+1+1 falls (Which it will) that we would be sent in a packaged deal to the PAC or forming some other partnership of convenience with a conglomeration of the ACC.
Plus we just culturally seem to fit in better with the SEC than what was left of the Big 12-2-2+1+1.
I have no clue about Texas politics.
I know that the Longhorn network was the main reason that Nebraska left. Even though you beat us this year, I'm glad to have A&M in the SEC.
