Not smart enough, IMO. Besides, he only posts on BOL now.
You tricky sunovabich!
Weedline ... how much tomfoolery you gonna spew onto this thread?!?! Thats some of the most BS I've read ... u a bama fball fan only or what?
But on the OP ... Mal's presence will be sorely missed not only short-term but long-term IMO

I don't think he'll even want to pick the guy. Besides, the baseball program has been resting in pieces for a while already.
What I got out of it was he is a Duke Bball fan, Bama Fball fan, and Patriots NFL fan.
Thoughts and prayers with Mal and his family. Sad deal.
As long as we don't hire Dave Hart I will be happy more than likely. Don't want that guy running our athletic department.
First, yes, thoughts and prayers are definitely with Coach Moore and his family. The guy will go down as the third most important figure in Alabama sports history behind Bear and Saban.
As for the next AD, I'm sure Saban WILL have some influence there, and I'm sure he'll help pick a good one.
I thoroughly believe Saban will return to the NFL one day, but only after he's had his run and fill in college, and then only to be a GM pulling the strings.
What experience and who would hire him as a GM in the NFL? Half of the teams probably wouldn't hire him as a HC much less a GM.
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
So much for that theory.
Saban won't be a GM in the NFL or an AD in college, IMO. When he's done, he'll be on the lake and that's about it, IMO. Would love to see Ozzie come back since he got another ring in the NFL and now that Ray retired.
sort of being serious...I would not be surprised if he took over eventually
No, it was spot on. They are saying Saban put this in place before Mal got sick. Battle's last contract he signed was contingent on this promotion. They are also saying Saban will replace him in the next 4 years as AD. He runs the AD already. You know that.
So a 70 year old former player isn't part of the good ole boy network? Lulz
You don't happen to be Mayan by any chance???
Like the old saying goes...."nothing stays the same forever."

Are you serious? Every year NFL teams practically shit themselves trying to lure him out. You think he's not smart enough to run a front office of an NFL organization? He's a control freak. Has to have total control of everything.
He's got tons of experience in the league and running successful organizations.
There's no way Saban just goes and sits on a lake. People that say that don't truly understand how the guy is wired. He'll die in an office or on the field somewhere. He won't go like hell for 60 years and then just "watch the ducks shit in the grass." He's a workaholic. It's all he knows, does and likes.
Everyone that was a part of that network was fired by Saban when he got here. Playing for Bear Bryant does not mean you are/were a part of that "network". Battle hasn't hired his friends just because he got bored sitting around the office in Tuscaloosa and wanted someone to talk to. Nick Saban isn't a puppet head coach they use to parade in front of the fans while they pull the strings behind the scenes. Have you seen his resume? He's 100 times more qualified than your AD and he is serving in an interim type situation. You're arguing the world is flat, bro. It's not even close
