So how big of a Michigan lock is this guy?
Ole Miss lock?
HUGE Michigan fan. He is all Michigan unless they make a mistake with him.
Bill Kurelic has him going to Michigan.
Haha Treadwell part 2?
In all seriousness, he seems like a kid who wants to stay close to home. Also academics seem to be a big part of his recruitment. ND was a big factor for a while, and that was due to their graduation rates of african american players. McDowell was also very impressed with Michigan's academic support.
Never happy hearing about a kid going to visit Bama, but I think he will be signing with Michigan when all is said and done. He doesn't seem like one of those kids who wants to be in one of those football factory schools, more about the total package.
Of course, McDowell has been pretty quiet for the most part. And I have no inside information or know much at all. That's just the sense I get from reading his interviews and what not. Also was a Michigan fan growing up, and I recall when he got his Michigan offer a couple years ago he said he was close to committing but his parents told him to hold off.
Great potential with this kid though, but he hasn't put it all together on the field yet. He isn't as dominant as he could be with his size and athleticism (he's still dominant don't get me wrong).
I'd say he's destined for ole miss unless Dabo can bring back some of that signing day magic
Very quiet kid. Not a lock by any means, but is definitely a pretty significant lean at this point.
Also, with him, I can't see him going to far from home. So the Southern schools are going to have an uphill battle.
Read this after I responded....
I think he's going to end up at UM but he wasn't really a fan of a particular team growing up IIRC. That factor is a little overblown.
I agree with everything else though.
Spot on, funny how he was suddenly a big UM fan growing up according to some.Have to give UM staff credit they've been all over McDowell while our staff doesn't remember how to get him on campus or how to locate his school.
Yeah, I expected it to be a dogfight between UM and ND, but ND's coaches seem to be somewhat conceding him to Michigan. It's so bad that Sparty thinks they occupy the #2 spot now, and they might be right.
He wasn't suddenly to some fans. He wore Michigan stuff to his first breakout event, which was his only film for like a year and a half, and the narrative went from there.
Don't act like an asshat just cause you said something nice in the second part.
He's right though. He's been seen wearing MSU stuff.
When asked who he cheered for growing up he said “Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Alabama, Wisconsin, I liked those schools growing up,” McDowell said.
Tuitt clone, hopefully we can sell him on that but it's lookin' all UM right now.
