How do I know which lens is glass? I have a good bit of knowledge with Costas but none with Maui's
University of Alabama: The high mark of college football since 1892
basically full frames are glass, half frames are polycarbonate 99.9% of the time
or you can use the back of youre hand and feel the difference between plastic and glass, the glass will be colder.
Okay, thanks man. I will check it out before I buy today.
All the jim's come with the new evo lens... it's poly-carbonate.. I personally like the bronze for fishing.. I do a lot of inshore and offshore and they're great for both.. blow costa out of the water.. even the 580 lenses. I have a pair of stingrays and won't buy anything else but them from now on
Dive for the thrill, shoot for the kill.
Okay so they no longer make the glass then?
Your stingrays are glass lenses
I'm sure you can request it, but you'll want the polycarbonate.. It's the standard in them now I believe..
not according to my eye doc.. they were wanting to put some script lenses in them and said if they were made in the last 2-3 years they are poly now
I had a pair with the glass lens about 6 years ago... they were much heavier then the ones I have now

Stingrays are glass lens. I guess you could special order but it would cost a pretty penny. Now prescription lenses may be a different thing. I've never really dealt with those.
Maui will never go away from their glass. They do offer more now in the glass/poly mix, but their glass is what makes Maui's. The company is based off of it.
Yeah script lenses are fuggin absurdly expensive... more than a regular pair of glasses.. reason being they make it from scratch through a computer technology that creates the lens rather than sculpting then lens from a block of glass... crazy ish
The evo lens is what I have and your right it does have some glass in it.. its a mix of glass and poly.. they're bad ass and I'm pretty sure the standard lens in the stingrays now
Ah they have the ST lenses... either way.. Maui lenses trump any other ones out there
i have the flexible metal ones and have had three pairs over the last 15 or so years
best sunglasses ever made. forget they are there (weigh the same as 6 paperclips)
and the lens is truly the best available
