NCAA went bankrupt investigating Auburn over the years......IMO
Ncaa routinely goes against it's own rules and make rules up as they go....psu isn't the first n won't b the last.
ITT Miami fans continue unmatched delusion
1- They haven't been on sanctions for years and still have sucked
2- The NCAA can still do whatever it wants, lolz at Lamp and others saying Miami won't accept harsh sanctions
3- Sanctions will come and harsh or not they will set Miami back even further
4- This is nothing more than Miami doing what Miami does, and if by come miracle they are let off the hook they will be up to no good in no time at all.... and then its no turning back, and Miami will be destroyed
5- lolz lolz lolz, Miami sucks
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Frankly, ncaa will do what it wants and miami will have no choice but to accept it.
As for psu, they already accepted their penalty and turned down any appeal opportunity. NOW they think it's unfair? Why didn't they go thru the appellate process afforded them?
Try harder Nova.
He does have a point that Miami has sucked off of sanctions with Golden and the recruiting classes aren't adding up.
OH HE MAD
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
14th & 8th aren't exactly terrible.
The problem is that in every other case, they could point to a bylaw where there was a clear infraction. In PSU's case, they cannot do that.
U obviously don't much about the history of the ncaa. Like I said, emmert outs a media whore and that's ur only basis for hope. Every president sends a "scathing" letter to ncaa and every fan sees a legal way out for his school.
So why didnt you take advantage of the appellate process?
But not every school has their home state sue they NCAA. In fact, only one has.
The ncaa governs thw school, not the state. The school turned away it's appeals and fully accepted the penalty. Dont you think that carries a ton of weight on a decision reversal?
The only thing that carries weight is whether the state has "standing" or not. If it does (and it looks 50/50 now) the feeling from legal analysts is that it is likely that PA will win.
The state is arguing that the consent decree was signed under duress. Also, the decree was never approved by the BOT of PSU, so it is not technically "official".
And the governing body of the NCAA voted to let Emmert completely assess any penalties he wanted, completely circumventing the normal process. Penn State, wanting to do the right thing did not put up a fight and fully accepted the Freeh Report. Frekkin Emmert punished em for it too.
Look at the history of the US........ Times change my friend.
So penn state and miami will be the first?
You don't beat the ncaa in court bc they don't follow ur rules....or any rules for that matter.
The cases against bama were littered with secret witnesses that they wouldn't even reveal and statements made under duress/coerced. U just have to catch them on a good day bc there is no pattern or fairness discernable in their rulings.
Well you do realize their are 3 lawsuits currently agaisnt the NCAA, remember the Coach from USC still has his lawsuit can't remember his name. Second you have Penn Govenor has the lawsuit and next you have some organization who has filed a lawsuit based on the fact Coaches who have a record that can't get a job.
Miami has some serious evidence to take in court based on the fact how can you pay a criminal in prison and give him a burner phone, Wow you mean to tell me you also pay
his attorney as well. Hmmm can you say some lawyer who wants to make a big time name for himself or herself won't be lining up to take this case.
I knew that Kenyan was responsible for this.
First of all, the NCAA has already lost in court before, but it wasn't about compliance, it was about TV rights (which is why schools now own them and the NCAA doesn't). That is also where the NCAA was found to be a monopoly.
All the other lawsuits against the NCAA have come from individuals or small organizations with limited resources. Do you wonder why the USC coach's lawsuit has been ongoing for awhile? It's because the NCAA knows that he likely will not be able to financially support keeping this fight going if it continues to get delayed. That is not the case with the State of PA. Never has the NCAA gone up against a plantiff that has virtually unlimited resources and at least equal legal council. They can't simply bully the state like they do others. It's not like anything we have seen before.
Bama had people sue the ncaa and won. It did nothing to lessen any sanctions. If anything they got revenge for it later. Schools don't own anything, only difference now is emmert listens to media. It has nothing to do with your lawyers.
On what basis is pennsylvania suing ncaa? They have no say on schollies or anything else. All they can argue is the money. Ncaa will gladly repeal that ruling and watch ur program that much closer.
Lol @ the butthurt from SCw fans...
