Actually, "hiding crime for the sake of football" is not a violation. It's nowhere in the rule book. The NCAA referenced a broadly worded eithics clause in their rule book which has nothing to do with "hiding a crime for the sake of football".
The NCAA also has a 5 year SOL... that never gets brought up, but it should. So all the way around, it was wrong. PSU did not break any rules, the ethics clause was never enforced (which is an issue because the NCAA is a monopoly) and the 5 year SOL was up. All valid "defenses".
UM is not getting "time served" from the NCAA. If that's #Canes fans are expecting this week, you will be disappointed.
What the dick is a Joe Casale?
Some guy who couldn't make it as an agent so now he lets his opinions out to his 1k followers on twitter. His tweet was irrelevant and holds no value.
his past failures and number of followers doesn't make his tweet inaccurate
Miami will still get some sort of punishment out of this
Most Canes would agree to that... but this dude has less e-cred than Ilovelamp.
3-5 for 3 years with no more bowl bans... I can dig it.
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
I hope Miami gets nothing and the NCAA crumbles!!!
True. I was just pointing out that they did give us scholarships back after the fact. It certainly didn't do much to help us.
If it is done to help recruiting it's no different than any other benefit.
Georgia Tech just scored again...
You were Paul Johnson's first bowl victory. Barkley coming back was huge for you guys. Losing record with that easy schedule. Fight on!
Who said it was done for recruiting? There is zero evidence of that. Besides, seeing how PSU did recruiting this year before sanctions, it is highly unlikely that a former coach being a pedophile would have much effect at all.
Also involved in these infractions are the basketball (Haith has already been served on that at Missouri) and baseball programs. Neither of them self imposed anything. That's interesting. This Miami bsktball team is likely built on Haith and Shapiro's infractions.
Miami fans are so optimistic and I probably would be if it were my team. You have to hold out hope, but the NCAA still has 80% of its case against you. Now more than ever they want to nail you. They will likely impose even more than normal just knowing you will try to appeal down. The NAIA is always an option, otherwise, you very will likely take this down and dirty...and made to smile.
If joepa was still the head, ur recruiting would've been atrocious. You have a much better staff for that now.
Of course, but there was very little fallout in recruiting until the sanctions came down. And remember, what we have now is 100x worse than how it would have been if Sandusky was turned in back in 2001. Kids weren't going to not go to PSU because an ex coach was a pedophile. That's silly.
For some reason, peoole think that ncaa only governs recruiting. They are a group assigned by member schools to police athletics. There is jo doubt that thrre was abig problem in Penn's athletic dept.
Ncaa routinely throws away or makes up laws as they go. You aren't the first, won't be the last and yiu wont do anything to significantly lessen the fact that they are bending u over.....period.
That's what they say... According to our president, it was more like 25% of what NS claimed. Even then, these unfounded allegations will go before the COI where will present their case & the COI will throw out anything not credible. 3-5 per for 3 years. No more BB.
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Still have no new material ? Im anything but mad partner, Miami just got slapped with the worst charge you can get
You do realize you just got LOIC right ? or are you just ignoring the facts like you have been for the last 2 years ?
Miami is done son, it will take a decade to recover from these upcoming sanctions
Keep thinking they will be as light as you think though, I won't have to wait much longer to serve you the crow

It's going to be ok little guy. You will get through this dark time.
I do not usually chime in but in my lifetime it seems Miami has always been in the news every so often for various violations more so than any university in collegiate athletics. I do hope they face hard core penalties.
Earlier in the thread someone from Penn State chimed in. You guys need to shut up and go away what happened at your university and people did not report to the police. You should wear a brown paper sack over your head. Many peoples lives ruined, and all because they wanted to be a "BALL BOY" for the local university.
Im not even sure what this means, keep trying lamp
You are losing your gift, cause your comebacks these days are weak... played out.... and just plain weak
Im doing fine bro, not only is my team not guilty of LOIC but we also don't suck butts on the field
If this is a dark time for FSU then you need dark lessons
I dont want UM to get slapped with hard penalties, BUT LOIC is a big deal and I dont see how Don Shalalalalalalalala is going to get them off of this. I would be staying positive if I were you as well Lamp. I just dont see them skating with a LOIC charge. One things for sure this will not end soon.
