I would like the following then,
The full legal names of every author, full citations of every first hand witness, and exact dates of publication for every book in the bible. In addition, any first hand evidence/data to support biblical phenomena.
I would also like full rationale as to why other manuscripts from the time (such as the gospel of timothy) were not included in the bible.
I'm waiting with baited breath.
Let me start off by saying I believe in God. I just have never understood the Jesus concept and have never been able to wrap my head around it so I do not consider myself a Christian. Most people get caught up in the bells and whistles of their respective religions. Creation, prophets, etc., but if you take the major religions of the world and take out all of the rederick you see that most all have an almost identical code of conduct. God's smart. I mean he's God after all. So I think he tailored religions to fit different cultures, ethnic groups, and geographic locations. The problem you run into when you debate a Christian is that they believe they are totally right and everyone else is totally wrong, but when you ask them to prove it, they just spew out bible verses. To an unbeliever proving your argument with bible verse holds no water because they don't believe in the bible anyway.
false, false, and false. Let's save this for another thread.
The worst part of that post is saying that people who do bad things in the name of christianity aren't really christians.
That's like saying, "I watched silence of the lambs the other day and skipped all the bad stuff. It was a nice movie about a girl who becomes an FBI agent in the end...it was only like 7 minutes long though."
Not exactly. The first manuscripts date between 2-300 AD. Hundreds of years after Jesus and all the disciples would have been around. There is no document in existence today that was actually written by the author of his respective gospel. And isn't it odd that no other documents from the time ever mention Jesus?
No true Scottsman fallacy.
Really not true.... not only are the origins of the Torah books up for great debate, but the origin of New Testament scriptures is largely unknown. The actual identities of the gospel writers is unknown, as are the sources of their information. All writers lived decades after Jesus. 2 of the gospel writers simply copied most info from the first writer and another mystery sources. Many "Paul" letters were likely not from Paul. Even the teachings of Jesus are ripe with contradictions between books and even within individual books. Hardly authentic.
No one believes something comes from nothing.
If you believe God came first, is God nothing? No.
You believe God always existed or you would have to say, "How did God, the most advanced being ever to exist that we cannot even comprehend, come from nothing".
On the other hand, others believe that matter always existed and ended up forming the universe.
NO ONE BELIEVES SOMETHING CAME FROM NOTHING!!!!
I am so sick of hearing that,
whats up my friend +1
Freeman has been doing "through the wormhole" too long.
There does not necessarily have to be a conflict in the "everything has to come from something" case. If the Universe encompasses all that exists, and time is an aspect of the universe, then there is no "before" the universe. This is because if there is no universe then there is no time. It then becomes nonsensical to say something is 'before' time.

This. When someone asks me what happened, "before the big bang", I immediately think they don't understand physics.
The other thing they don't understand is that it appears that the universe isn't expanding out from one central point, like say shrapnel from a grenade. space itself is expanding. this means that if you pick any point and look from that perspective, it will appear that the universe is expanding from that point.
