if anyone is a fan of avett brothers then look up Amos Lee. Talented guy worth a listen.

Love the As The Crow Flies EP
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
Basically a band from European that has takent American roots music and made it palatable for Yuppies.
Lot of their songs sound like Johnny Cash ripoffs to me.
Bob Dylan performed with them at the Grammy Awards a few years back and ever since then they've been big.
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
I forgot all about that. Good call.
Another band I really like is Dawes. I started listening to them and then saw them at the Hangout last year. Nohing Is Wrong is a really solid album.
everything that man does is gold. I am borderline obsessed. he can do anything really. if you go to youtube and type in "amos lee live" you wont have enough time in the day to watch all the incredible live stuff he does. Bill Withers to GnR to Shai, haha its crazy. He could be and RnB star if he wanted. I love versatile artists like that, they can put on a serious concert.
Amos Lee performing 'Lovely Day (Bill Withers cover)', live in concert at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Rotterdam 8 july 2012.

Not guilty y'all got to feel me
this thread is going to make my day. solid stuff in here.
Im listening to dawes now and The Band is a band i forgot about for a while. THAT is good music
I thought for a while it was a Sanford and Son spinoff show
Yeah he did some songs with zac brown on there last album. He's got a smooth voice
Ya, Zac Brown said he was going to cover the song "Southern Girl" on his next album, but it didn't make the cut i guess.

Thanks, Coach Saban
Folk music is not mean't to be mainstream. i'm perfectly fine with them playing strictly at Bonnaroo and festivals and never being heard from again. Commercials completely ruin all types of good bands by whitewashing their style - but in most cases these burgeoning bands have little say so in where their music goes and how it's used. Sometimes they aren't even aware their music is being used. All kinds of copyright infringement lawsuits out there by bands for how their music is used.
There is a really talented keyboard player who gets booked every night to play at local bars and just cover bands with just him and a drummer. He always played 2-3 Mumford songs before I realized they existed but once I heard of them I realized that my boys versions were all better.
It's an encyclopedia company IMO

I know you're speaking generally, but I just don't like Mumford's music. As I said before I like many similar groups, but despite trying several times M&S just does absolutely nothing for me.
Fair statement. CCR is from San Francisco and they just up and decided to become a deep south rock band
They're Brits who were all in different bands until they figured out they all liked country music, so now they play folksy, Irish music.
