Don't Dink and Drance - The Devil Wears Prada
I would like to burn this down.
I would like to see it melt in yellow
and observe a cloud of blackness rise.
Watch it rise as it is wrath himself.
Watch it rise.
Crows will flee the scene as if to remind me
how long it's been since I have seen a dove.
Melt in yellow as I do.
Exhaustion and mother of tribulation.
Wound by wound.
I torture myself.
Wound by wound, I torture myself.
Whiteness, present yourself,
as I know you are the sky and anchor of my being.
What we've known turns to paper,
What we've known is like cigarettes.
How was the show?
I would like to hear about the show as well.
BTW, what is the second badge?
That's a badge that Harry made... a pic of Billy after a long night of drinking.
Dilla is a genius, that's the big deal. I have posted a bunch of tracks throughout the thread.
Here are some instrumentals. If you don't like some of these then it's just not your thing.
Common - Be
Deserve got nothing to do with it...
The full instremental of J. Dilla's "Sun in My Face" feat. Blu and Jontel on the album Jay Love Japan. I will not tell people where to find this. If you want to have this for a demo or your personal collection, go out there and dig.... it's out there.
Common killed this track
Common - Nag Champa Instrumental
I have been as critical as anyone about their latest album being boring so if you aren't into them I understand but most of their stuff is great.
@Fuzz and Go Blue
The xx show was real good. Their live performance sounds great. The great songs were amazing and the boring songs sounded amazing but were still boring.
Jaime XX had a little drum solo at one point that was cool. For the most part the audience was good except when random idiots couldn't handle the quiet and had to "woooo" in the middle of songs.
Also, please no singing along when the venue is dead silent and people can hear you pitiful voice sing, thank you.
I didn't watch the grammys but watched some of the performances after. A couple of thoughts:
Frank Ocean was so disappointing, sounded off and judging by his song choice decided he didn't really feel like expanding his fanbase.
Jack White killed it
Never heard of him before but that guy Miguel was pretty good (minus Wiz with him)
Really white dudes love some Mumford and sons (more of an observation I make at bars)
Some old Gaslight. I would love for them to put out an acoustic album
One of the best acoustic-Punksongs ever to be written.
2013 has been a really good year so far compared to last year for me. Here are a few that I really like so far this year.
My Bloody Valentine - mbv (early album of the year contender)
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - II
Steven Wilson - The Raven that Refused to Sing (and other stories)
Christopher Owens - Lysandre
Foxygen - We are the 21st Century Ambassadors of... (forget the rest of the title)
Grouper - The Man Who Died in His Boat
I tuned in to see the Black Keys and Jack White, both were good. I really liked the Black Keys with the jazz band behind them.
Jack White always shows up
This is a really good music doc for anyone interested. Searching for Sugar Man.
Directed by Malik Bendjelloul. With Rodriguez, Stephen 'Sugar' Segerman, Dennis Coffey, Mike Theodore. Two South Africans set out to discover what happened to their unlikely musical hero, the mysterious 1970s rock 'n' roller, Rodriguez.
Jack White was sick. I saw him at The Hangout last year (the lineup is being released some time this week by the way).Obviously the show was great but he has some blonde smokeshow playing the slide guitar right behind him.
I've been meaning to check out some Miguel ish for awhile, but after seeing him the other night I listened to the Kaleidoscope Dream album yesterday morning. It's really solid.
I've tried several times to get into Mumford & Sons but I just can't. The entire white race is obsessed with them & frankly I just don't get it.
The Levon Helm tribute was good too. I'm a homer being from Alabama, but the Shakes lead singer Brittany is amazing. Her voice isn't transcends femininity/masculinity. They're going to absolutely blow soon.

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
Bump for later
I don't think The XX would be the same without Jamie XX.
Not really an album, but this was one of my favorite things to come out in 2012. I have listened to the entire thing couple times now.
Really starts at 3:30.

What is up with My Bloody Valentine? I was too young when "Loveless" came out and I understand that album has a cult following and was considered by some to be an album that was "ahead of its time." What do people mean by that?
Should I listen to Loveless before listening to mbv?
I missed My Bloody Valentine the first time around - started listening to them a few years ago... was too young to notice it before.
I never really got the cult following the other albums had, but definitely thought they were cool records.
I wasn't even all that excited about mbv when I heard about it, but wow.... awesome recording. I guess that's what happens when you marinate ideas for 20 years.
Finally got the blaster badge added
Finally wathced the Black Keys. Good performance. That was the Preservation Hall Jazz Band with them. I saw them open for My Morning Jacket a while back. They are fun to see live, they joind MMJ for the encore and did a killer cover of Move On Up by Curtis Mayfield.
Your in the cool kid club now
Atoms For Peace's AMOK has leaked and was streaming although I don't know if it is any longer. I think it is very good. I am enjoying the rhythm section alot and it has a bouncy groove to it.
Just got the Atoms for Peace and the new Beach Fossils
