Deserve got nothing to do with it...
Is that a 180gram or is that the regular vinyl the album comes as? Think I may pick it up.
I checked out the leaked Jai Paul debut since I liked the song "Jasmine", the rest isn't as good as that song and they even changed the demo version for the album (unless the leaked version isn't final).
I like the Apocalypse Now intro they used on this version.

I thought it was supposed to be 180gram but it feels a bit light
Contemporary disco mixed with house music = fvcking awesome
Track from Escort's self-titled debut LP.
Escort burst on to the scene with a string of critically acclaimed 12" releases that quickly became staples for DJs around the globe. The Brooklyn-based, seventeen-member "disco orchestra", founded by producers Eugene Cho and Dan Balis, and fronted by lead singer Adeline Michèle, features an incredible cast of musicians who have played with everyone from indie rock titans Arcade Fire to avant-classical luminaries Alarm Will Sound.
Escort's long-awaited debut LP is steeped in the venerable tradition of clubland's holy trinity — New York, Chicago, and Detroit — but it seems particularly reminiscent of mutant-pop luminaries such as Kid Creole and the Coconuts and Ian Dury, who somehow managed to translate their sardonic wit to the dancefloor. By embracing the legacy of these classic but forward-thinking acts, they have yet managed to create something strikingly new.
The LP's opener "Caméleon Chameleon" is a perfect example: a three-act play about the French serial impostor Frédéric Bourdin, set to a beat that's equal parts Michael Jackson and the Tom Tom Club. The tracks, "Make Me Over" and "Why oh Why" explore the musical possibilities of another era, rather than simply trying to re-create it. The 1937 standard "A Sailboat in the Moonlight" is twisted into a lost Kid Creole classic. The album also includes the definitive versions of their 12" DJ releases — which have been remixed, remastered, rearranged, and re-recorded specially for the LP — to complete an album with absolutely no filler.

3 more tracks from their upcoming new album for "BBC live sessions"
Do we have anything that comes close to what BBC does? The only thing I can think of is "NPR first listen", but I don't think they ever do live sessions like BBC.
The National are live at Maida Vale with tracks from the new album, Trouble Will Find Me.
I finally got around to the Jakes Blake. I think it's pretty good.
But, I can't stop listening to this track.

just pre-ordered the deluxe double lp.
Did anyone pick anything up for record store day? I made it to my store at 9am and still came away empty handed on everything on my wishlist. I did pick up a few records that i have been meaning to get since everything was 10 percent off.
On a positive note just saw that Bob Dylan is touring with My Morning Jacket and Wilco! Playing a show in Tampa, going to call in a favor and get good seats for that,. Shit yeah!
I got to my shop around 9:15 thinking they were going to open at 10. Turns out they opened at 9. The line was already around the block when I got there.
I knew I wasn't going to get anything but went in anyway... missed all of the stuff I wanted.
A very touching and heart wrenching song written for one of the survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Listen to Gambles - A song for Jeff Bauman Jr by whoisgambles: give me back my wild audio.
The family of Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs in the bombings, learned of his fate from an image of the bloodied young man being tended to by a man in a cowboy hat.
Just saw this news on this tour. I'll definitely be going to the show in Englewood, CO. That's a helluva lineup, but I hope everyone gets to play full sets.
streamed the first half of the deerhunter today. i'm not huge on the first track but the next 3 or 4 were pretty good. I'm sure it will grow on me I usually really like their albums.
