We need one of these.. Miami and Chicago are in a battle so far. (Game was -14 Miami, betting on Chicago at +14 would've been smart).
Also, Memphis can close out OKC tonight. If Memphis makes it to the Finals, they're probably the worst matchup for Miami out of any other team in the NBA. Those 2 beasts inside are Miami's weakness.. I hope that's our Finals matchup.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
Think we have to see how healthy Wade is going forward. Without him they are still a very good team because of all the shooters around James/Bosh, but definitely more beatable.
As a Grizz fan with season tickets this season has set-up pretty well for us and been a fun ride. Still a challenge tonight and in next round if we go forward.
Even though the Grizz are playing great and look like a legit title contender, I still think the Grizz would have a better chance with Rudy Gay. I might be in the minority but I think the Grizz are a tougher team with Gay's scoring ability on the wing.
You are definitely in the minority and really shouldn't be a topic now with this playoffs success combined with the success in 2011 when Gay was hurt. Conley and Gasol would not be playing this great if that bum was still with the Grizzlies. Just too many isolations for Gay with ZBO Conley Gasol just standing around.
Memphis will be tough, for the Heat, because of their defense.
Wade would need to be 100%, or Tony Allen will make that series even tougher for him.
Prince can still defend very well, but nobody's stopping LBJ, so if he's able to make LBJ shoot some contested jumpers it's a positive.
Add in Gasol, the defensive player of the yr., and it looks like it will be a challenge.
The issue comes down to, how healthy will Wade be, after another physical series vs the Pacers.
Oh I understand and I know why I'm in the minority... Personally, I think if the Grizz made it to the Finals, they could use his clutchness and extra scoring that they'll need.
I know I'm probably wrong but whatever, I think Gay makes you guys better but it doesn't matter anymore.
Our offensive efficiency as well as points per game rose after he left. And he have just fine in 'clutchness' since he left with Gasol and Conley both having game winning shots. He doesn't help this team at all because Conley has flourished into a top PG after Gay left and that not be mistake. and Gasol carrying the rest of the burden.
That's cool. We aren't going to agree. To each his own.
We will see when the Grizzlies play a real team like the Heat if the same wrings true.
None of the teams the Grizzlies have played come close to the defence that Heat bring to the table. We will see if Conley can get it done with Lebron, Chalmers, and Cole playing on him.
I am just trying to figure out why Gay is so important to the Grizzlies when the guy shoots a low FG%, doesn't play good defense, or doesn't do the other little things. Yet when he left the Grizzlies everything positive stat went UP after he left and went 27-10 in the regular season and about to win two playoff series.
Oh no Chalmers/Cole are terrifying. He avg 17ppg 8.6assists and 1.8 turnovers a game vs Chris Paul who is 1st team all All-Defense.
Watching now. Good thread Les
Solid flop by LeBron there.
Yeah I've been wanting to talk about the games and realized we didn't have a thread for the playoffs on this board.. Now we do and can talk about all the games.
Bet the Knicks wish they still hate Nate.
But I can't wait for this Memphis/OKC game.. Been a GREAT series and will be crazy to see Memphis win in 5 games. All the ishh talkers about Westbrook better stfu bc it's obvious OKC can't win without him. I bet OKC wishes they still had Harden.. How dumb are the Thunder anyways? They would rather keep Ibaka over Harden? When you have someone as talented as Harden, YOU FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT WORK. Don't care what anyone says, they FVCKED UP by letting him go.
We had been doing the playoff thread in the Heatles thread. Its only a matter of time til the old folks that will start the 90s bball is better/ these guys all suck arguments will be itt.
Good to see Wade playing well tonight. He was starting to worry me.
It's blatantly obvious how much players like Sefolosha, Ibaka , Martin and even Durant benefit from Westbrook's free-wheeling, explosive, offensive game. His ability to steal and create transition opportunities alike are sorely missed. Not to mention the Iron-Man status until that point. OKC can't beat Memphis, and most certainly, can't beat Miami.
Memphis is a fun team to think about against the Heat. They've got two scorers down low, and with only Chris Bosh to guard one of them (probably Randolph) they've got a small advantage in the paint. Can they slow the Heat down though?
That's saying that Miami will make it through Indiana. What a great, balanced team that is. They're going to make you uncomfortable, rebound better than you, and spread the ball around. Playoffs are going to be interesting in the semi-finals!

He's nowhere near 100. Definitely went back to the locker room and got a shot for his knee. He won't get much of a rest either 'cause the Knicks are done.
ECF won't start until next Tuesday at the earliest according to NBA.com, so he'll get some time.
As to your other point, yes, you gotta roll the dice, and keep Harden until the very last second available. However, as a Rockets fan, i'm not mad. Not mad one little bit.
I don't have an NBA team, chief.
I hear ya but he needs a bit longer imo. He just doesn't look right. He looked like shit that whole series until he went back to the locker room. Hopefully he's good for the ECF. I don't necessarily think they need him to take the series if they hit their 3's, but they'll def need him in the Finals for sure. This has been a great post season this year for sure though. SA and GS, the Grizz and Miami doin' work. And then you got Indiana dominating the Knicks aside from the blowout.
I remember when Durant didn't complain to the refs, didn't get T'd up and didn't have an attitude on the court.
This isn't him, he's doing this or has acted like this all season because outsiders said he needed to be more "mean" but that's just not who he is. If he plays like he use to, when he had fun, loved the game and just went out and played without getting mad or emotional, he would play better, IMO.
I understand he's the leading scorer in the playoffs and had another GREAT season but I think he's more efficient when he's himself because this attitude he's had all season isn't KD.
In my opinion.
Westbrook has turned OKC into a jump shooting team and that's blatantly obvious if you pay attention.
Indiana will be very tough for Miami with HIbbert playing at such a high level and D. West has ALWAYS had Bosh's number, I'm a Hornets fan and witnessed it on more than 1 occasion. I think Miami wins but it's going to be a physical series which doesn't bode well for Wade, I hope he comes out of it ready to go because I still think Miami wins the series, in 6 games but 7 wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Memphis is a matchup nightmare if you can call it that for a team as good as Miami. They have no answer for Gasol/Randolf, also the number 1 D in the NBA.. Allen can handle a hobbled Wade but they don't have anyone to cover Lebron. Would be SUCH an interesting series, I'm not going to bet against Miami though. Truly think the Refs favor a team like Miami vs the style of offense Memphis runs (and defense), Memphis team would be great in the 90s bc they could really bash people.

With a bunch of terrible defenders along side him. Heat have among the best rotations/help defence in the league, the best defender, tremendous athleticism, and they have a shot blocking presence on the court at all times. The Clippers don't, and neither does a battered down OKC team without Harden/Westbrook like last season.
This could go more in depth, but lets leave it for Heatles thread and keep this about other games.
