I remember watching the footage on cnn after the shooting an the reporter kept saying two pistols was used in the massacre. About eight hours later it was switched to an ar-15. This was done for one reason an one reason only! To help fuel the Presidents war on weapons.
This isn't anything new. I thought it was common knowledge that the "assault rifle" was never used and left in the trunk of the kids car.
Not what the medical examiner had said.......he said the "long one" LOL
Yep, he made that clear. Didn't he also make a joke about knowing more about guns and ammo than just about anyone?

"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
There was three medical examiners, but only one has talked to the media.
Probably because It's easier to use the story of your choice if you go this route.
Yep and seemed like he was laughing as well.
what difference does it make? either you give guns to everyone or you keep it from people in the hope that the mentals don't go around doing this..i would imagine people are either on one side or the other
The problem is the government wants people to believe an assault rifle was used to help push their agenda on weapons.
is 4 handguns any better though? i don't have a dog in this, but NBC is not the government
Never said they were the government, but that is what they want people to believe.
Can someone please define 'assault rifle' and pleasedont use the AR-15 as part of the definition
Considering Obama is lobbying to have "Assault Weapons" banned and is using Newtown as a cornerstone of his argument it makes a big difference.
Read this...very easy to read and explains thing in ways that people that aren't familiar with guns can understand as well
If that link told me about Assault Rifles that helped prevent crimes, I might be interested.

Show me a link that says Assault Rifles cause crimes...
Who care's honestly?
Let the others bitch and moan about them. I have them and won't get rid of them if the government asks me to or not. Nobody will ever have to worry about my guns unless they try and break into my home or harm those I love on my property.
You do that, I don't know why an assault rifle or anything else I have makes a different. I'm shooting them in the chest all the same. I just let crybabies be crybabies
There needs to be common sense used in this debate and of course in Washington, where the party never stops, there is none because our "leaders" are too worried about not getting re-elected.
Here's the deal- you have to pass an eye exam to get a driver's license. They do this so you don't go kill yourself or someone else driving a car. Make people that want to buy guns pass a mental exam. More jobs are created because of the need for psychologists and screeners and less crazy people have guns.
Instead you have these crusades either for or against things that don't matter. Oh, I don't like assault weapons so I'm going to use the school shooting to pass my agenda. The other side then starts flaunting their pro-gun position and no sensible solution is found to the issue- crazy people should not have access to guns. This isn't a referendum on the second amendment. It's not a chance for the liberals to impose a firearms prohibition- it's a chance to make it difficult for crazy people to own guns!!!

I just started a thread about how there are more tests to get a driver's license than a gun. Just wish I could upvote this everyday.
who cares what was used..........lets talk about why the government is too cheap to put police in every school in America
It makes more sense than having the pricks hiding out in restaurant parking lots giving me speeding tickets when I'm going 42 in a 35.
the government isn't coming into your homes to take your guns
the first amendment isnt absolute
(we have various restrictions on speech -- libel, incitement, hate, etc)
and the 2nd aint absolute either
people are trying to make it so that less innocent Americans get killed
our gun culture is bonkers in this country; and the amount of irrational and irresponsible with access to inordinate firepower is absurd and dangerous to the public at-large
we need tighter controls to make sure that responsible individuals retain the right to bear arms (and form militias) (cuz you know how the 2nd Amendment was constructed in a wholly different societal context -- pre-police force and pre- professional military, etc)
no one is ever going to forcibly take guns away from citizens who have them
so please put down the delusional dystopian crackpipe
we need reasonable measures to make our society safer
the alex jones, fear and hate-driven, knee-jerk, irrational is sad and pathetic
how many more kids need to die before a more sizable political majority realizes that our gun culture has well passed unhealthy proportions in this country?
It's a state issue and on that level, things are even more ridiculous (in most states, not all).
That would be a federal grant program I think all parties could get behind, though.
Most schools do have a "resource officer" but it's one guy or gal usually.
